Browse Forums Building A New House Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 61Apr 18, 2010 11:04 pm Oh the pegs. I thought ours went missing. The ones that stick up-no idea where they were as trucks and dirt had moved them. Then we eventually found the ones hammered into the dirt and were hugely relieved. I think it's the builder who is responsible for ensuring the pegs are intact-at least the very important ones hammered into the ground. Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 62Apr 18, 2010 11:52 pm It's the ones hammered in to the ground that we can't find, well... we found one of the missing 3 but it's not in place. The ones that stick up went bye-byes when we had our bricks delivered, or some other delivery early on. Will call the office tomorrow then and see what they say. Thanks Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 63Apr 19, 2010 10:01 am mmm not good. Get the builder to show you otherwise they are responsible for getting it re-surveyed. Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 64Apr 21, 2010 10:59 am They are saying they aren't responsible They basically said the site was surveyed (told us we were charged for this) prior to construction and the pegs put in place for the sole purpose of them placing the slab in the correct position to the boundary. And since they don't need them anymore, it's not their problem. I have photos of the block prior to us purchasing it which shows the pegs in place, ours sales rep actually told us to ensure they were in place prior to putting an offer in on the block. So not sure why they would have needed to re-survey prior to construction starting (if they even did it...). Not sure what to do now Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 65Apr 21, 2010 1:58 pm Our builder in SA actually told us it was our responsibility to make sure the pegs stayed in place, and if any of them disappeared, we would have to pay $440 to get another site survey done. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: lachjor's thread! - Boundary pegs? 66Apr 28, 2010 4:19 pm Ahh, really?? What do they expect you to do? Camp out there to keep an eye on them?? ;o We were never told anything like that, I just assumed they were precious, precious... and the builders/tradies knew to be careful of them. Sadly mistaken there I think Nothing much happening here, in the past two weeks all that has been done is insulation has been installed and the towel rails & toilet roll holders installed. And this week so far we've got 90% of a driveway (almost finished) and mirrors I got an email yesterday saying they've scheduled to do their checks (did not give a date at all), so I can only hope PCI isn't too far away Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle. We're planning our garage/external laundry to master bedroom and… 0 10925 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16222 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17118 |
