Keep us posted when you hear any dates for titles!!!! Anyone else having to put in 1m or more retaining walls? Building with Porter Davis Lot 1119 - Stage 11 89 Evans Drive, Croydon Land Settled -15th Sept 2011 Slab finished - 8th June 2012 Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 989Aug 25, 2011 3:20 pm Hi Everyone, how are the builds going? We found out good news this week, SS believes we will defiantely be in our house by Christmas so we are super excited to not be renting too much longer Our bricks are finishes, ducted heating in, ducted vacumning in. They are anticipating to start plastering next week, with completion of lock up by tomorrow. SRAC - we have to build a 1.4m retaining wall along the entire side of our block not liking the cost nor the process we are going to have to go through with Council to get approval. Dandav - we are really happy with our bricks, we are glad we changed our minds last minute to the Homestead Tan Your house is looking great with your bricks all clean now Nat - Sorry to hear about your cabling issues, hopefully you get it resolved soon. Housemouse - Saw you yesterday when I was going through the house but you were talking to someone so I didn't want to interrupt, hope the house is going well, you don't look too far away from being finished. Couldn't believe how many new houses have started in the last week in Stage 3. Really not that far away - 4 mths. We are having to put a 1m retaining wall down one side of our block too. Also at the rear. We are just starting to price it and wasn't expecting the extra cost either. We are quoting both block work and sleeper. What kind of RW are you putting in? We are planning on doing ours prior to the house being built! Just another extra!!!! Building with Porter Davis Lot 1119 - Stage 11 89 Evans Drive, Croydon Land Settled -15th Sept 2011 Slab finished - 8th June 2012 Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 991Aug 26, 2011 3:08 pm Nezza awesome news about Stage 8, titles hopefully won't be to far behind! Hey Nat if you find a good fence company do u think we'd be able to grab their details? Soemthing we need to start thinking about. Claire & Greg fantastic news about SS thinking you'll be in before Xmas!! Our place looks different now the bricks are clean... Think SS said he'd be able to let us know in about 4 weeks time when we might be in. Next week Painter is due to come Can't wait to see the front rendered and the inside. Eskay.. you place is looking good. Have been there on each of the three days to see each layer done and finished. Looks so great now, makes a huge difference with the roads! Registration went in to title office yesterday, council will take a couple of weeks in theory, we are told Sept title by solicitor. Can't wait to get started! Just worried about trees on our block and if we are going to have trouble getting rid of them! We know of others who have had a lot of trouble! Dont know what we'll do if that gets refused! Hope everyone else has had good progress with the sunshine! Nat & Danni your houses look awesome!! Housemouse how are you going? Noticed lots of piles of dirt on your block the other day, where has this come from? Wonder what the Dennis house with the big tan colored bricks will end up looking like! So much going on now, and seems like some are coming along much quicker! Anyone have good recommendations for arborist? Our block is finally cleared of all the dirt and pipes and rubbish!!! Not sure if we'll need a retaining wall. Just waiting on prelim approval at this stage for the facade/render and praying we are going to be able to get rid of trees! Happy building everyone! Keep us posted on developments! We never even got that letter about September title Susy Susy & Mike Lot 813 - Stage 8 Land Titled 5/9/11 Settlement 23/09/11 Site Cut 14/03/12 Slab 30/03/12 Frame 13/04/12 Roof 23/04/12 Bricks 1/06/12 Lockup 3/06/12 ___________________________________ Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 993Aug 27, 2011 11:57 am SRAC - as we are on a corner, we only have the option of stone, brick or rendered cement - and the stone is the most cost effective option which we are going ahead with, but due to the cost (a lot more than we originally expected) this retaining wall may have to be in a little later than we originally planned which is annoying. Susy - We originall got Taylors Tree Removal out to provide an arborist report (but in the end didn't need the report as our trees were 100% healthy and we just then had to go through the process with Council which took about 2 months). When we finally got the approval to remove the 3 trees we got Mates Rates Tree Removal which are just up the road to remove them. They were really good too. Claire, you should have come over and said hi! I was talking to a landscaper - we have to get new quotes for the retaining wall as the company I wanted to use are now booked out until December. Grr! Your house is looking really fantastic, I love your facade. Catlover - all that dirt was dug out from around our house and slab. It was originally spread around the block evenly, but because it was higher than the slab they were always going to move it for drainage reasons. They are waiting for us to get our retaining walls in, and they will push it to the edge of the block, and any remaining dirt will be taken away. Our driveway should be layed on Friday, and the floorboards are being polished next Monday. PCI has been booked in for September 13th. So hopefully we should be moving in a week or so later. I am very weary now, and I am stressed about trying to organize the retaining walls and fencing to be done in 2 - 3 weeks, that I really am just over the whole thing. 2 years of being displaced has taken its toll! SIGH. It will be so amazing when we finally do get in there. I can't believe how much the estate has changed. I was looking at old photos I took back in Dec 2009 when there was nothing except a few roads. Now it's becoming a little community, I love it! Housemouse thats awesome news abut your PCI being in 2 weeks, you guys must be getting really excited love the blog update, the stairs look amazing and nice colour selections. News on our front, painter is in this week and once we have a rough date think we'll start looking at fence quotes. i love the estate too! when we purchased the land there wasn't even a road.. how things have changed. oooh can't wait to get in!!
