Hubby said we can pay the 750 to upgrade to laminex so thats good now Did you pay much extra for the waterfall edges? I really didnt know laminex could do that! Did you find you had to have square edges with it? Also one more question do you know the name of your floor tiles for the bathroom? I gather you got them from Magic tiles?? I chose a grey but I dont know if its the same one you have. I chose a grey but I dont know if its the same one you have. Yep it's a bargain I reckon too! Good going on the Laminex upgrade too hehe. I didn’t see any extra payment for the waterfall edge that I recall, although we forgot to ask for the fancy acrylic join so the benchtop sticks out, breaking the illusion of a proper waterfall edge if you’re looking for it. Whoops, now I know Looks good enough to me though, so I don't want to get it changed at this stage. As for bathroom tiles, they're a dark chocolate brown from the standard 200x200mm $44-per-sqm allowance range we were presented with. We were taken to Imported Ceramics for our tile selections. I don't have the tile name with me at work, but I'll try to remember to post it when I get home The wall tiles will be a warm white (chocolate and cream, my bathrooms are going to make me hungry...) Jodie80 Great looking laundry trough too!! Although I must admit to not being as awed by your laundry sink as you are LOL I'm not a fan of laundrys Chedasha wow looking good. I like it! Love the laundry as well lol. Hehe thanks guys - I still have no idea why I’m so smitten with it, I’m the most anti-laundry person you can find (we do a load once a week, and we alternate weeks – so technically I only do the washing 2 days in a month!) For some silly reason though, it was a Must Have. It’s so odd tc2000 WOW-wee Vundaful! You certainly have steamed ahead this week! Love your ensuite layout - it certainly is different and sep his n hers benchtops! Our wonderful designer can be credited with that idea, he was brilliant. No more fighting over the mirror and taps in the morning woohoo! And they really are steaming now, I've placed my bets (somewhat naively probably ) on handover before Easter. Fingers crossed! Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 205Feb 19, 2010 11:25 am Looking great Vundaful! They sure are working quickly. In regards to your kitchen wall cupboards have you thought about getting a bulkhead put up there? Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 206Feb 19, 2010 11:37 am buildingadreamhome Looking great Vundaful! They sure are working quickly. In regards to your kitchen wall cupboards have you thought about getting a bulkhead put up there? Yup! When we get around to putting in the kitchen we've dreamed of (caesarstone benchtops, glass splashback, overhead cabinets and CORNER DRAWERS!! /drool) we'll get the cabinets extended to meet a ~30cm bulkhead over the benchtops, and an island bulkhead put in too It was just too expensive to add all of this onto the house as we were already pushing the budget So we put standard stuff that we could happily live with in and in a few years we'll go ahead and do it all Thankfully we escaped the need to extend the mortgage to cover the $$$$ it would have cost doing it through the builder! Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 207Feb 19, 2010 11:51 am I think that's the sensible way to do it, especially if you plan on being in the house for a few years. Friends of ours built the standard kitchen three years ago and have recently put in the stone benchtops and gloss cupboard doors they really wanted and couldn't justify doing through the builder at the time. Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 208Feb 19, 2010 10:30 pm Hey V Just wondering, is that standard post form bench (in laundry etc) or did you get it wrapped to 10mm? If you did get it wrapped did it cost extra? Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 209Feb 19, 2010 10:39 pm Laundry bench was standard, we didn't ask for anything other than the sink upgrade I think post-formed benchtops were standard with the house... Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 211Feb 24, 2010 6:28 pm Tiler's meeting booked for tomorrow morning, so we get to have a squizzy inside and see how it all looks close up Plus, we finally chased down the double shower head we wanted for the ensuite: Grohe Freehander: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Paid a fortune for the damned thing - it's worth more than my workmate's car We probably need to INSURE it Re: Vundaful's House - Meeting tiler on-site tomorrow! 212Feb 24, 2010 9:03 pm WHAT!!!! You're meeting your tiler already!!!!! YAY!!!!! Ooo, this means some new pics right???? I'm so pleased for you! Start of tiling = to a few weeks more and you're completed!!!! BTW, I LOVE your double shower head....very very nice. It's really odd that over here in Australia, Gröhe tapware is SOOOOoooo expensive cos' over in Germany, it's bl00dy cheap and considered as just normal mid-range tapware! The meeting went great (the tiler was such a cutie!) and Steve our SS was fantastic. He's aiming for PCI in late March and handover for Easter. We got to ask some niggling questions and take a good poke around the house too (SO MUCH has been done, render on, tiler starting, ceilings and internal doors painted, pavers delivered, shelving in - the list goes on). I have all my pictures with me and I'll be uploading them as the day goes on For now, here's a teaser: RENDER and GRANO! Re: Vundaful's House - SO MUCH has been done this week! 219Feb 25, 2010 4:10 pm Nup Getting quotes for flooring this week though. We're saving up for air con, window furnishings etc over the next couple of years (prefer to buy them outright rather than add to the mortgage). Furniture won't be for a few years I think Re: Vundaful's House - SO MUCH has been done this week! 220Feb 25, 2010 4:27 pm Your home is looking great V Can't wait to see the rest of your photo's!! hint hint... nudge nudge... kick kick.... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread!
