I'm busting at the seams with excitement NOW!! (maybe I'll convince hubby to make the trip this arvo ) On a less-whimsical and more practical note, we're going floor and curtain scouting this Saturday in Balcatta ! Need to get a feel for what's out there and what kind of $$ we're looking at. So far I've got down:
for flooring and
pencilled in for a visit. They're all within 1km of each other to make it easy. Can anyone else recommend a place to visit for flooring and window furnishings? WOOHOO! 183Feb 18, 2010 10:04 pm Week 17

The front doors and interior doors are hung, the cabinets have gone in, the baths and sinks are finished. The tiler looks like he's well on his way to setting up too, there are boxes of tiles in the entrance. It looks a little sad atm because no one reminded me at prestart (and I didn't think to ask) about what increasing the ceilings would do to the cabinets, and we took out the top row of cabinets to save a bit of $$ (which I'm regretting now haha!). Oh well, I'm not overly bothered, please feel free to pick on my silly little kitchen with me Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking at the kitchen through the theatre room with a few bits and bobs for next week in the foreground. Looks like a finial, skirting boards, and the rails for the wardrobes. When you go to prestart do they go through everything with you or do you have to mention you want it upgrading? Also did you have to upgrade the tapware or was it all part of the $150 Can I ask what colours you used in the bathrooms and laundry? I am so lost and have so many great ideas but a lot of them arent accessible with the company So I want to see if I can copy something I like and I will know it looks great RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! I LOVE your front doors (not to mention everything else) We have very similiar taste in colours. Well done! Its progressing wonderfully Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 194Feb 18, 2010 11:58 pm Thanks Onc, Lachjor, Zircon, Jodie and Jess! rhi3384 Oh It all looks so lovely!!! and I will be also stealing that trough!! I am so lost and have so many great ideas but a lot of them arent accessible with the company So I want to see if I can copy something I like and I will know it looks great Thanks sweets We asked right at the pre-contract stage to have it upgraded, but it was confirmed at pre-start (so it's not too late). The $150 was inclusive of taps for us, but I think we did have to pay a little extra to make the bench wide enough to support it (wasn't expensive to do this from memory). As for our laminate colour choices: Laundry: benchtop - Laminex "Silver Shadow" (velour finish), cupboards - Laminex "Pearl Grey" (natural finish) Bathrooms: benchtop - Laminex "Petra Stone" (diamondgloss), cupboards - Laminex "Pearl Grey" (natural finish) Kitchen: benchtop - Laminex "Vulcan Stone" (diamondgloss), cupboards - Laminex "zincworks" (natural finish) I'm very flattered that you like the colour choices We're aiming for a warm, earthy feeling in the bathrooms (tiles complement this, they're very similar to JessL's tiles). Hubby had his choice in the kitchen, hence why it's so dark (our spashback tile is charcoal haha ). Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 195Feb 19, 2010 12:02 am Nothing wrong with the darker colours viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 196Feb 19, 2010 12:04 am Since coming to H1 and seeing everyone's gorgeous kitchens I have been in a constant state of 'grass is greener' syndrome about the colour selections in the kitchen Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 197Feb 19, 2010 12:21 am Oh V, I've been the same, but I've actually changed my slections three or four times, I'm definately set now though Re: Vundaful's House - LOCKED UP and cabinets in! 198Feb 19, 2010 6:39 am Ah, don't worry, I want to totally redo my kitchen too... You can always add extra cabinets later when funds allow. Anyway, it'll look different once your splashback, appliances and rangehood are in and the walls painted.
