Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 03, 2010 3:54 pm I had my garage door installed on my new house and i really dislike the style now that i see it against my house. WHat are the chances it could be changed and if so how much would i be looking at given its not long to go till completion. Re: Garage Door Change? 3Jan 03, 2010 4:02 pm Well your builder will say, it's what you picked - it's what you get. They won't want to change it, it's already been installed, nothing wrong with it either. If you were able to change it, it would cost time and money. What's so wrong with it, that you didn't notice until it was installed? Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Garage Door Change? 4Jan 03, 2010 4:12 pm well its a modern home and the caprice style squared door in grey looks pretty tacky against the house. I want to change it to contemporary but maybe i will just have to live with it. Re: Garage Door Change? 7Jan 03, 2010 5:03 pm A pic would definitely help. We are in a dilemma still with the garage door colour etc and still haven't decided as yet. Tossing between a timber look door or just a dark colourbond colour. Swaying more away from the timber. If we hate it-we will change it later on. I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as what you may think. I have noticed I have been very critical with my house stressing out about every little stage they are up to. Re: Garage Door Change? 8Jan 04, 2010 9:48 am Maybe just ask! If they are a bigger builder, they might be able to just change it for you and keep it for another house they are building... I guess they would still charge you something for labour still though. Re: Garage Door Change? 9Jan 04, 2010 12:10 pm Dollar I have noticed I have been very critical with my house stressing out about every little stage they are up to. Well it IS YOUR house! You're allowed to be. It's a major investment, not something to be taken lightly.
