Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 28, 2009 7:19 pm So Many Colours to Choose from...aaaaahhhhhhh I am looking at the Wattyl Exterior Colours and want a stone/white render colour. Its so hard to choose when you can't see the end product. The bricks are hard as well - PGH has no display center at the moment but they look good on the website! I have decided on Roof: Ironstone Colorbond Gutter: Ironstone Colorbond Fascia: Shale Grey (not 100% sure yet) Window Frame: Natural Timber Bricks: PGH Aubergine http://www.pghbricks.com.au/Bricks/Defa ... ItemId=150 Mortar: Natural Beige or White (Depending on Render) Need two render colours now to fit in with roof and bricks. Any Suggestions would be much appreciated! Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 2Dec 28, 2009 7:22 pm You may be allowed Colorbond colours as well as Wattyl? We did Paperbark render. (and garage) http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg89/leah6363/garage1.jpg edit-changed the pic. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 3Dec 28, 2009 7:32 pm Wow thanks themax, The colours look so much lighter on a house! Thank you for the visual, the dark roof looks great with your paperbark render. I will look into Colorbond render colours. Thanks again. Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 4Dec 28, 2009 8:06 pm Thanks. I chose it because I wanted the garage and render to match and flow. Not many people like that idea but I do. I had a list of colours that I could choose from and they were mainly BRistol and some Taubmans colours. There were a few C/bond colours so I went with that so I could have the garage the same. It IS truly a nightmare sometimes. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 5Dec 28, 2009 9:06 pm Just another question to put out there in regards to colour selection: I have read bad reviews on the Alfresco range of PGH bricks I wonder if anyone has any feedback on Aubergine bricks? mmmmmmmmm the more I look at the PGH brick book the more I am inclined to think that Blue Steel Flash is more suited to Ironstone Colorbond. Aaaaahhhh you are right themax it can be truly a nightmare!!! Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 6Dec 28, 2009 9:32 pm We have Paperbark and Hog Bristle (the lighter colour). http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/14Sept1.jpg Here is a photo of the finished facade. http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/11Oct3.jpg Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 8Dec 29, 2009 10:46 am Hi Bubblepop, Wattyl doesn't have an online colour wall, but I found some Dulux colours that may suit the look you're after. For a white/stone colour, the 'Grey Pebble' (full/half/quarter) or Vanilla Quake (full/half/quarter) would suit your other exterior colours well. Go to http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-wall. For the Grey Pebble palette, type P14b into the search box and you'll see ideas for a second render colour as well. For the Vanilla Quake palette, type P14a into the search box for second render colours. I'm sure Wattyl could paint-match any Dulux colour. Aaaaahhhh you are right themax it can be truly a nightmare!!! Hey there Our bricks are PGH Blue Steel Flash and we've chosen ColorBond Windspray for the roof/gutters and fascia, Stegbar APO Grey windows and Shale Grey garage doors. We have downpipes in ColorBond Ironstone as well as our watertank. We didn't want the Ironstone on the roof because we felt with a dark brick colour, a dark roof would be too 'heavy looking'. But horses for courses right? If you like it, that's what is most important Pix Built a (highly) modified Allcastle Maxworth 38.7 in Sydney. Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 10Dec 29, 2009 11:46 am Im not much help with render colours but i will say that the blue steel flash bricks are lovely and i would love to use them on my next house (which will hopefully be the dream house lol). I think they will match much better with the ironstone than the aubergine bricks. The aubergine are much more of a dark blacky/brown colour where as the others are more blacky/blue. Good luck! Re: Which Wattyl Render Colour???? 11Dec 29, 2009 7:38 pm WOW THANKS FOR THE REPLIES SO HELPFUL! Hi Pharley, Thank you for the Render Codes, I checked out Dulux and really like the grey pebble half! Great Help Hi Pix, I had originally thought of Windspray and can't remember what changed my mind, so I am looking forward in seeing photos of your Windspray Roof on (fingers crossed soon) I can't believe they just left it on the nature strip! Hi All The Sands, want you to know that you have helped me lock in Blue Steel Flash! I wanted a blue based brick so naturally Blue Steel Flash would be the best selection! Thanks everyone for all your help, I am much more confident in my choices and most importantly more relaxed heading into the NEW YEAR!!! Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again.
