It is a shame to rip up all the grass. Looks like you are in a nice neighborhood. Have you been through the new display home of the Chrystal Mk3 at Goulburn? They have built a terrific alfresco area out the back with decking. R Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 6Dec 28, 2009 9:44 pm R and R You have a nice view there R & J. R Hey R and R We havent looked at the crystal display in goulburn yet, i didnt know it was finished : ) We have been to warick farm a few times now... we are building the the one with the alfresco "as displayed" at warick farm but we have asked for if without the slab as it was $2000 and we want to deck it anyway.. an alfresco was a must on my list lol... it is a shame to rip up the grass especially since i spend 2 hours and alot of sweat mowing it every few weeks : ).. We really like the area the neighbours are so nice & its so quiet (battleaxe block in a culdesac).. apparently there are 23 kids living in the street, so that sounds good to me as our 4 year old daughter is an only child lol... I see your house is almost ready... yay... its looking fantastic... i bet your excited : ) Building the Crystal in Wollongong NSW 26th Sept 09 - Paid $2500 1st May 10 - Slab poured 14th May 10 - Frame complete 8th June 10 - Roof complete 21st June 10 - Bricks complete 30th June 10 - Lock Up 6th August - PCI 18th August - Handover Our building thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27639 Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 7Jan 08, 2010 5:53 pm Yay council plans got approved yesterday.... in 14 days : ) Building the Crystal in Wollongong NSW 26th Sept 09 - Paid $2500 1st May 10 - Slab poured 14th May 10 - Frame complete 8th June 10 - Roof complete 21st June 10 - Bricks complete 30th June 10 - Lock Up 6th August - PCI 18th August - Handover Our building thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27639 Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 8Jan 27, 2010 11:43 am Okay so i've got some free time today so its time for some pictures... lets start with the external selections PGH "Chiara" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Monier traditional profile "barramundi" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hume Doors illusion XIL22 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Contemporary Facade Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building the Crystal in Wollongong NSW 26th Sept 09 - Paid $2500 1st May 10 - Slab poured 14th May 10 - Frame complete 8th June 10 - Roof complete 21st June 10 - Bricks complete 30th June 10 - Lock Up 6th August - PCI 18th August - Handover Our building thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27639 Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 9Jan 27, 2010 12:29 pm Now for the internal selections... Our DA got approved very quickly... we have done our tile selections and are now waiting for our colour selection appointment which is booked for the 5th of feb... So now comes the problem of choosing paint colours... we plan to get one colour in the living areas, kitchen, entry & hallway & white woodwork and doors & separate colours in the bedrooms etc... For the main areas i was looking for a colour that was grey but not too "cold"... that was dark enough for that perfect dramatic contrast to the white woodwork but not so dark that the house felt "small" So i've narrowed the "main areas" colour down to 3 options... i usually have a "gift" at choosing paint colours but for some reason now that its useful i seem to have lost it lol.... i have painted some boards with sample pots i bought... So here are some pictures of the 3 options with our kitchen samples... ANY advice would be greatly appreciated... the good the bad and the ugly lol... The first option is taubmans "grey fog" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The second option is taubmans "flint smoke" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The third option is taubmans "taupe stone" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ please please please please please please please please please please please please please please help me..... It's a nice subtle grey but you can definitely see the contrast between the white ceiling and the wall colour. I'm trying to find a nice photo of it to show you. If I can't though I'll try and take one this arvo when I go there. You could check out the last page of my thread that has the aircon return grill photo in it but the colour is a bit off as it was taken with my phone. You can still see the contrast though with the ceiling. I love your feature tile too. Gorgeous!!!! Turns out the laminex wood grain ebony macassar for the bathrooms and kitchen were no extra cost that was a surprise... Then comes the disapointments... First off... we are getting the 1200mm wide front door & high ceilings so that increases the front doors height to 2340mm.. we were told we could choose from the savoy & illusion range... so we chose one from the illusion range turns out that particular door only comes in a standard height... so we had to pick a different one Then we were under the impression that the stacked stone piers were included with our facade.... nope $3000 extra Then... turns out we didnt get the paint colour chart... so i wasnt aware that you have to choose from "trade" colours.... i didnt see anything that matched the colours i had already chosen... plus none of the standard colours were white... apprarently to get a real white its $2000 on top of the extra we would be paying for 3 different colours and different coloured woodwork so..... we told them not to paint our house... we will pay a tradesman to come paint after handover... will probably work out around the same price plus we can pick whatever colours we like... So here are the things we upgraded... Aluminium kickboards $275 Water point to fridge space (for ice maker in fridge) $250 Bevelled edge mirrors in both bathrooms $65 each Upgraded alarm control pad $55 Wiring in the living room for surround sound speakers $165 A fancy long door handle for the front door $272 Provide phone connection $443 Oh and by the way after whipper snipping our entire block in the rain last night(cause the lawn mower wouldnt start)... surprise surprise they didnt do our pegout today Building the Crystal in Wollongong NSW 26th Sept 09 - Paid $2500 1st May 10 - Slab poured 14th May 10 - Frame complete 8th June 10 - Roof complete 21st June 10 - Bricks complete 30th June 10 - Lock Up 6th August - PCI 18th August - Handover Our building thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27639 Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 18Feb 06, 2010 7:38 pm Ok so now i have calmed down a bit i will post our colour selections Our new front door (as we couldnt have the one we previously picked) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front door and wood feature in the facade will be stained Quantum - Merbau Laundry door will be painted in Dune Kitchen - Top cabinets createc Ultra white gloss Bottom cabinets laminex Ebony macassar (matt finish) Benchtops quantum quartz Luna white Kickboards brushed aluminium Bathrooms - Vanity laminex Ebony macassar see samples above Bevelled edge mirrors Cornices - Boral "new york" Skirting - Colonial Paint - we are not getting paint - see post above I think thats about all the interesting stuff lol Building the Crystal in Wollongong NSW 26th Sept 09 - Paid $2500 1st May 10 - Slab poured 14th May 10 - Frame complete 8th June 10 - Roof complete 21st June 10 - Bricks complete 30th June 10 - Lock Up 6th August - PCI 18th August - Handover Our building thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27639 Re: The Vardy's House - Masterton Crystal MK3 19Feb 06, 2010 8:04 pm I like this door better than your previous choice, Is it regular hinge or pivot hinge?
