I was very happy, so took some pictures of "clean dirt" for your perusal! Re: My First Home - EB Memphis - Slab closing in! 24Jun 08, 2010 9:05 pm Went up to site today and was rather surprised to find they were putting the waffle pods down... I wasn't expecting anything with the piers until the ground had dried out, but guess they must have figured it was dry enough! They are hoping to pour either tomorrow or Thursday, even though there still appears to be quite a bit of surface water. I will send a quick email to my SS to ask him. In the meantime enjoy today's pictures, including the obligatory Portaloo! Rgds Leonard. Cheers Leonard. Mate you need it more than I do (good weather that is). I am kind of hoping they can get the slab down and then it rains for a few days. Re: My First Home - EB Memphis - Slab closing in! 32Jun 09, 2010 9:00 pm chasey Congrats on the slab - looks good !!! Hope you have quick progress with the rest of the house. No slab quite yet Chasey, but yeah I hope they can put this thing up and be in by Christmas, but also not going to stress over it if they don't. Re: EB Memphis Rear Bed - Slabbed 34Jun 13, 2010 9:54 am Slabbed! I was a little surprised at how small the house felt, although in my head I know it is quite a large house... I think it probably just "looks" small due to not having any real definition yet, and having the expanse of the surrounding area around it. Couldn't see any visible cracking, but hopefully the cooler weather and with all the moisture in the ground and surrounding area will also help. Measured everything that I could and everything is about right, ie a few cm's out here or there, but generally looking good. Will see what happens when the frame goes up. Can't wait to get the frames up now. Enjoy. Don't stress about it feeling small, it's just a trick of the eye. Now all they have to do is build the rest of the house and hey presto you can move in. All the best Leonard. I'm hoping for a slab by the end of the week. I think slabs always look small until you get the framing and then it looks massive. lol very cool. Whereabouts are you building? Re: EB Memphis Rear Bed - Roof Tiles (no pics) 39Jul 09, 2010 9:03 pm Just a quick update: Had slab, frames, plumbing, and roof tiles all done in the space of the last month! Very happy so far. I know things will slow down, but still can't complain so far. Am happy with SS, seems like a good guy, and others in the estate have given him a good wrap too.
