Re: One off plan WA - Post handover...

Absolutely agree with you Veefy. Unfortunately no amount of constant nagging has managed to get DH to complete the OBVIOUS task! I'm hoping for a miracle very, very soon!
I cant get over how quickly its all going. Your going to be getting plastered very soon - so excited for you after so many delays at the begining!

Went to make my weekly pilgrimage to the block and was pleasantly surprised to see that they've started on the plastering. They'd completed Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 and the WIR of the Master Suite and about 3/4 of the walls of the Master Suite. I think they'll have finished all the rooms by COB Saturday.

Hi Ezi4few

WOW! Just catching up on your build and it's looking amazing. All happening so quickly. How have you found your SS so far during the build?
Well we're officially locked out as of last week and tomorrow the cabinets will be coming in and then the tiling will begin!

Below are photos of what is becoming our lovely house. It's just amazing and we all can't wait to make it our lovely home.

Looking good!
Its got to be getting exciting now Ez ... finally seeing some tangible progress - I bet you can almost taste where your furniture is going to site and the colours you will put on the walls.
Our cabinetry are all mostly in and tiles have been delivered and they've waterproofed the wet areas, so now eagerly awaiting the call from the Tilers to tee up a time to confirm the tile placements!! Oh!....AND they've painted the ceilings and started painting the gutters.

[i]Apologies for the poor quality of photos, but took them from outside the house. Will get better ones, hopefully when I go inside to chat with the tilers

May I ask why gutters are painted and not colourbond
Ezi4few it's looking great! It seems like your build has gone very quickly!? Or is it just me?

Pattycake my builder didn't offer colorbond as standard...I'm guessing E's didn't either?

Pattycake4: Unfortunately as zoe's mama has indicated, colorbond gutters weren't a standard inclusion and would have cost $$$$ which we hadn't really budgeted for

Zoe's mama: I know!!!!
Patience is definitely a virtue, but that's not to say, I want to jinx the progress either
Thanks, were they zincalume reason I ask is I can't get Fascia or rollerdoor colour I want in colourbond.
Can you see brush strokes

Can you see brush strokes

I can't see brush strokes as such although from what I could see, they've only done the one coat. FYI... the colour is Monument, so don't know if the 'darker' colour makes any difference re: brush strokes. Another words, if one were to choose a lighter colour, would that make the brush strokes stand out a little more, etc. I hadn't really thought about painting of rollerdoors...I'd assume it wouldn't matter....

...and yes, gutters and downpipes are zincalume.

Sorry if this isn't much help, as definitely not an expert in these sorts of things

...could anybody else help with Pattycake4's enquiry, please?
Hi Pattycake
You can't see the brush strokes on my gutters or downpipes. I am only 5"4 though
I think they look fine

I wouldn't stress at all about the fascia being painted but I don't know how successful painting a roller door would be. I'm sure it's been done before though!
Thanks ,yes I have painted rollerdoor before

hi -
does any one know if there is any difference in quality between zincalume and colorbond gutter and downpipes. i guess once zinc gutters are painted, you might not need to paint them for another 10 years or so.
I went to our tiling meeting this morning and was surprised to see the floor tiles already laid down, so just reconfirmed our placement with the borders, etc around the wet areas.
Both tilers were great and a happy bunch for the morning as well!

Following picks are 'before' the feature tiles etc. go on and tomorrow morning I'll pop around and see if I can get some 'after' shots
