Browse Forums Building A New House Re: One off plan C*llier Homes WA - Retaining walls are goin 121Oct 25, 2010 7:05 pm I'm absolutely devastated! Had to make the heart breaking call to the property manager to release the hold on the rental next door to our block. Unfortunately we still haven't sold our house and I would hate to leave the owners in a tight predicament if we held onto that lease any longer. *shakes fist at stupid Wheel of Fortune* Plastering 02/03/11 Roofframe 31/01/11 / Electrics, plumbing, gutters, downpipes 12/02/11 Bricks 10/01/11 / Pad 10/12/10 Retainingwalls 5/11/10 / Re-peg 14/10/10 Bldlic appvd 10/09/10 / Plansappvd 12/07/10 Bldcontract signed 19/02/10 / Landsettlement 25/01/10 BlockUOffer July 09 Forum: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27512 Re: One off plan C*llier Homes WA - DEVASTATED!!! 122Nov 01, 2010 4:24 pm Oh gosh - you poor thing. We really aren't in too bad a situation, but would obviously prefer to be in a better predicament. All the retaining is now completed and the fencing contractors will finish putting up all the boundary fences by Thursday. Hopefully the earthworks and pad will be completed this month! Can't something go right for us for once? We are still waiting on the builders response which should be within the next couple of days. The retaining company has really let both the builders and us down immensely !!!!!!!!!!!! Our retaining wall was put 0.5m off the boundary, if that makes you feel any better. The builder said they were really annoyed at those particular sub contractors. I think that the way they handle your concerns is the most important thing. Fingers crossed for a quick, satisfactory response. x ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: One off plan WA - Nightmare continues! 128Nov 15, 2010 2:35 pm Let's just say: The outcome was not what we expected from the builders. We're looking into the BRTribunal. However, the builders have agreed to reimburse us the cost of that small section of retaining. Earthworks begin tomorrow. We had major issues with our Builder and looked into BDT as well. Only thing is it can set you back weeks and weeks. Our issue was not due to the quality of workmanship though it was a contractual dispute so quiet different. I feel your pain though Can you hire an independent inspector to have a look? More $$ i know but may be worth it. ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: One off plan WA - Nightmare continues! 130Nov 19, 2010 10:57 am **Disclaimer - This joke is a little rude, so apologies to those who I *may* have offended in any way. This is a lighthearted entry compared to the others I had been posting recently** I thought this joke was quite funny! A man wakes up in the hospital, bandaged from head to foot. The doctor comes in and says, 'Ah, I see you've regained consciousness. Now, you probably won't remember, but you were in a pile-up on the freeway. You're going to be okay, you'll walk again and everything, but...something happened. I'm trying to break this gently, but the fact is, your appendage was chopped off in the wreck and we were unable to find it.' The man groans, but the doctor goes on, 'You've got $9000 in insurance compensation coming and we have the technology now to build you a new appendage that will work as well as your old one did - better in fact! But the thing is, it doesn't come cheap. It's $1000 an inch.' The man perks up at this. 'So,' the doctor says, 'it's for you to decide how many inches you want. But it's something you'd better discuss with your wife. I mean, if you had a five-inch one before, and you decide to go for a nine-incher, she might be a bit put out. But if you had a nine-inch one before, and you decide only to invest in a five incher this time, she might be disappointed. So it's important that she plays a role in helping you make the decision.' The man agrees to talk with his wife. The doctor comes back the next day. 'So,' says the doctor, 'have you spoken with your wife?' 'I have,' says the man. 'And has she helped you in making the decision? ''Yes, she has,' says the man. 'And what is it?' asks the doctor. 'We're getting granite countertops.'
