I'm liking the idea of having a roof on the house before it becomes "the wettest June in 8 years". Stefan Building the M3tr!con Liberty 42 at Stonecutters Ridge. (19/5 243Jun 10, 2010 9:00 pm Hey Stefan....was wondering if you had asked your SS about the lack of wrap under your bricks? Lorree *edit* lol I just went back over the last 3 pages and I don't know how but I missed your post on the wrapping....so just ignore this lol Interesting that its not a standard practice up there hmmmmm Re: Liberty 42 @Stonecutters Ridge - Bricking started! (19/5 244Jun 10, 2010 9:08 pm Hi Frogger, We did! I apologise for not posting here - we were discussing it on the blog. Ultimately yes - it's a state specific product that is not required in NSW. In NSW, it's used as an insulation product. We have insulation in the walls and roof, so our SS said there was no need for the wrap. Cheers! Not only did they get a tremendous amount of work done, but the quality has been top notch. Even the fiddly bits around the entrance and the outdoor room was seemingly flawless. We’re very impressed. They were even out on site today, working until around noon. According to our site supervisor, who rang with updates on Tuesday, the brickies should be finished by the end of next week, with work to start on the roof next. Here's a few pictures, but as always, more on the blog. (19/5 248Jun 20, 2010 10:48 pm Got a call from our site supervisor this week. Bricking is close to being completed. In a way, bricking HAS been completed – all of which is possible without scaffolding. Come Monday morning, scaffolding will be erected, and the remaining bricking should be completed by weeks end. Alongside the final touches, guttering and fascia is set to be installed in preperation for…the roof! Took a drive out to Stonecutters Ridge this morning to meet with out site supervisor. The brickwork has been completed, and while they may not have been the quickest crew, the finishing work is fantastic. It really looks good, especially compared to other houses we've seen. Including the rain delays we had through May, I'd say it took just over a month for the bricking to be completed. Our site supervisor was running a little late, but the tradesman installing our fascia and gutters wasn't. He'd been out on site since the break of dawn, and was confident that he'd finish by sundown. Talk about making the most of the day! So what's to come? With the fascia and guttering to be installed today, the roof is set to be started on Monday and will likely take a good week to install. So...if the weather cooperates, we should have a roof on the house by next weekend, which eases all our worries about bad weather. Our neighbour across the street is FINALLY getting some good progress made on his home. After weeks of delays due to the rain and the pit for his pool caving in, the majority of this frame is now up. It's good to see progress - I like the idea of the neighbourhood coming together. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stefan Building the M3tr!con Liberty 42 at Stonecutters Ridge. I drove around the estate and drove around your place in the morning too 9am (did not see anyone in front of the house) however I saw the jacket hanging from the scaffolding .. may be it was your gutter installers Yes all the houses are coming up at the same time and it gives me a great buzz to see this .. I agree that the brick work looks very tidy .. good set of brickies you got .. Loretta Thanks Loretta, I hope you're right! BTW, I've been following your blog as well, the house looks beautiful. How is the landscaping coming along? Looks like you guys had a great start. Hope the weather keeps clear for your roof to be complete soon.. I agree that the brick work looks very tidy .. good set of brickies you got .. D Hi Doozie, thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty excited to see the bricks once they've been cleaned. It's kind of the last "question mark" I've got, after seeing the fascia and guttering colours yesterday. Our roof is the same colour as the gutters, so it was good to see in the light. I haven't actually heard of the Austral Symmetry – Portland bricks. I'll have to look them up. I edit my photos using Lightroom first (to adjust levels, colours, contrast, crop), then export to Photoshop to sharpen, resize, and add the signature. The signature is actually a free plugin that you can download for any photoshop version cs2 and above. Here's the download link. It uses Adobe AIR so if you're going to use it, make sure that's installed, and that you enable it in Photoshop under "Windows > Extensions". I would agree - I think everyone feeds off everyone elses excitement in the neighbourhood. Even further, it seems like Stonecutters Ridge will have a very friendly group of people - everyone we've met have been great, with similar interests.
