Some builders charge more for colorbond where only tiles are standard. Much differentiation between the builders. Re: The Pavillion - Celebration Homes 31Jun 21, 2010 1:22 am Hi guys, we picked our keys up for our Pavillion last Friday and it is beaut! We love it so much and Celebration Homes did a fantastic job! We are in the middle if painting and getting tiles and carpets done, can't wait to officially move in! How are you guys finding your building process? Did you make any changes to your Pavillions? Re: The Pavillion - Celebration Homes 32Jun 21, 2010 1:34 pm I made heaps of changes to mine... we changed the front of our house to the 'ultra modern' elevation i think it was called, and we put 31course ceilings through out the house, put a double sink into the ensuite and a few other little changes. We had a lot of problems with Celebrations pre-construction, but now they have actually started building i have been very very impressed with the quality and so far had no mistakes/problems (touch wood) !! What about you guys any changes or problems ??? How long did it take them to finish and hand the keys once you had got to lock up ?? Bought Block in July 09 Slab went down March 10 Lock up End July !!! Re: The Pavillion - Celebration Homes 33Jun 21, 2010 1:54 pm wow congrats rosienchris - cant wait to see ur piccies!!! We're glad that a number of you are building with Celebration Homes — we are hoping to build the Viva. And we're very interested in reading about everyone's experiences and learning from the wise! If everything goes to plan, fingers crossed, we will have our Pre-start Interview when my partner gets back from England in August. We're looking at settlement this week for our plot in Ridgewood and we've just received a Preliminary Works Contract. Hopefully we'll be able to set up our own building thread once the gears are set in motion... Any advice for crazy people like us jumping straight into the deep end? *Building Virgins* constructing the Viva by Celebration Homes in Ridgewood on 576m2. Hi writermonkey, Welcome to Australia and to the world of building and to this forum! hehehe We are almost halfway through our bricks. Celebrations homes have so far been brilliant! Everything has been very quick and the quality excellent. We have an independent building inspector who has been inspecting the work so far and he has come back with very positive comments! Do let us know if you need any help! Prestart is a lot of fun but do LOTS of research! Research will be your best friend throught this process and this forum is great for that! Good luck with you build - looking forward to following it! Cheers sara.alag Building with Celebration homes SOR Perth [color=#BF00BF] Re: The Pavillion - Celebration Homes 38Jul 03, 2010 10:01 pm Hi sara.alag, Just curious: why do you have an independent building inspector? Personal preference or something that was recommended to you? Also, yes, I have a feeling pre-start might be a little overwhelming so I'm doing all the research I can. Unfortunately, there always seems to be something new to look at! *Building Virgins* constructing the Viva by Celebration Homes in Ridgewood on 576m2. It is looking great and is everything we wanted in a house - Celebration Homes have done a brilliant job!!! Enjoy the process guys because it does go so so quick. Chris and I were sitting there last night saying 'remember when this was just a slab' 'remember when the roof wasnt on yet'. It is so so exciting but just enjoy every stage. Writermonkey you will love your prestart meeting and congratulations on your move to Australia and your new block in Ridgewood - we built in Clarkson so very close! As long as you look through your folder and even look at other houses around town for ideas you will come up with colour ideas and it will all work out so well. The prestart meeting is very exciting and the consultants there are quite helpful as well. They have lots of examples and you have plenty of time to pick and choose what you want! Enjoy! Hopefully I can get some photos up soon!
