Carlisle Homes has a double story there on display, the 'Newington 36'. I was sure this house used our brick the boral 'Mist' so I asked the ladies there and guess what... it was the same! So I am now reassured again that its a good brick. Lucky! I was worried. SO Ive included a couple of iPhone pictures of the display house to show our brick colour selection. http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae201/boiselfish/photo.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae201/boiselfish/photo-11.jpg NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! Builders are very protective of their plans, I can understand it well enough though it's always a bummer. Maybe they will let you put up a less-detailed one without all the building details? If he wants to tell you off about this one, perhaps remind him of the benefits of word of mouth advertising. I never knew about formula homes before talking to yourself and its only after I have asked you a few pm and questions that I am considering having a chat with formula homes when we get back from holidays. If they are going to get narky................. Re: Our Villa 24 by Formula Homes, Karinya - Point Cook 27Jan 11, 2010 12:13 pm Exactly what I though. Our experience has been great so far and word of mouth is the best advertising this is why I was so happy to share everything with everyone. Nevermind I guess. NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! Ridiculous... Anyone wanting to see the plan go to http://www.formulahomes.com.au/#/urban/ and click "view collection", then select Villa. There is a little info symbol on the photo that comes up and you can choose the floorplan to view from there. BAD user interface, rather non-obvious and poor usability, but I suspect that this company really isn't that web savvy anyways... Why else would they have a problem with someone advertising their wares on a forum? A bit sad on the builders problem with you showing your plans. Word of mouth. The builder we are pretty keen on we found out through word of mouth and if it wasn't for that person we would have never known about the builder! Re: Our Villa 24 @ Karinya - Point Cook TENTATIVE SLAB POUR DATE 35Jan 28, 2010 1:54 pm Just had a call from our building supervisor to be... He has said that the slab pour for our house is booked for the 22nd Feb. WOOHOO! Only bummer is we will be in JAPAN! So we wont get to fulfill the superstitious requirements of tossing some coins in or being able to write our names in it. So hopefully we arrive home to find our piece of concrete which would be a nice welcome home present! GSK... you will have to keep an eye on our block from 14th Feb as thats when we leave. So you can let us know via the forum if and when we get a slab while we are away! NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! WE have had our site scrape. I know the house we are building isnt huge but the scrape is tiny! Hopefully its just cause we have a level block. And no rock removal! Saving money!!! http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae201/boiselfish/Sitescrape2.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae201/boiselfish/sitescrape1.jpg NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! No problems at all with the updates while you're gone. I'm usually past our block twice a day so no harm in stopping at your block too. It seems that the wooden beams for our alfresco and portico are missing so our roof trussing has stopped going up. They started on it Yesterday but by 11am they were no longer on site and haven't been there this morning. You know if your site scrape is done now, you might even get the slab down before the 14th. YOu know what's coming next? Your portaloo (couldn't see one in your pic) and temp fencing!!! Geez! You have one heck of a piece of flat land!!!! I'm SOOOOooooo envious! It makes landscaping after completion so much easier! No levelling to be done etc etc etc and how fortunate that they didn't encounter any rocks! A shame you won't be around for slab-day (if it still turns out to be per the scheduled date your builder has given you) - my family and I found this to be the most exciting day ever! I visited my site 3 times on slab day!!!! Reading your story so far brings back memories from the start of my build....not that I would swish to go through it again... On a side note, why on earth would your builder request for you to take off your site plans when it is even more easily available via the www? silly! Only goes to show that they do peruse this forum...but hey, if it's positive and free advertising for them, why not eh? Guess since they own the copyright of the plans, they can tell you what to do with it... Anyway, hope to see some more site related action before you leave for your hols. Our whole estate/sub division seems to be lucky that the developer flattened it all out and took the rocks away before hand. We are hopeful the slab will go down before we leave so are checking all the time, even the scrape was a surprise as we didn't think it would happen yet so we have our fingers crossed. If it does go down before we leave we're hopeful there will be a frame on our return! lol Probably too much wishful thinking i'm sure. NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!
