Hey Somewoman, it's looking good. Those downlights look really good.
I thought I had read in another post somewhere that you were planning to do polished concrete floors. Did I misread?

Feel so much more relieved now. That's more the look we would be after. The painting in your house is coming along brilliantly. The brightness is so refreshing. Good to see waterproofing taking place at the moment. I love your shower niche. I asked my builder about having them and his reply "we don't do them because their subject to leaking", interpreted by me as "we're too lazy and can't be bothered do them and we can't trust our tilers to genuinely waterproof the showers'. That's what I mean by parochial. They just won't do anything out of the ordinary. Is that a bad thing?!!!!! well you can't have 'em - they're MINE!! I agree - they are totally awesome =) Re: Longridge Madison - waterproofing 397May 25, 2010 9:24 pm TamDaz Thanks for posting that pic re the slimline powerpoint. Feel so much more relieved now. The slimlines looks REALLY good. I think you'll be happy =) We also have the saturn switches for the lights and visible power points in the main living area and kitchen, but slimlines anywhere that won't be "on display". There's standard points behind the appliances like the oven, rangehoods and things. Stuff that you can't get to without moving something not meant to be moved Re: Longridge Madison - waterproofing 398May 25, 2010 9:27 pm robinred55 Oh Somewoman, it's looking wonderful. They're more like display niches where you might hang a picture frame rather than something useful to stick your shampoo bottles on. We'll just have to stick to thin shampoo bottles!! Rather disappointing that your builder nixxed it. They're really useful when done properly! Your house will rock, at any rate =) Re: Longridge Madison - waterproofing 400May 25, 2010 10:18 pm robinred55 Oh Somewoman, it's looking wonderful. I love your shower niche. We asked for them too and got the same response, even when we said we would waive any responsibility on the builder if they leaked in the future. Your house is looking good somewoman. I really wanted the Saturn power points/switches, but they were way too expensive for my budget. |
