Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 15, 2009 5:35 pm Hi all Can anyone tell me how much the feature staircase is in the Impression at The Ponds? They've incorrectly installed it (I think it does look nice but it's not going to work with the design vision we have for our entry way) Now they're telling me that's what I ordered - but I wanted to check the price. I thought it was somewhere in the vicinity of $2-3k. Does anyone have a figure from their contract or brochure? After 4 years - we're in! Re: Help - Wisdom builders 2Dec 15, 2009 6:09 pm Hey SC, The std staircase was $3,600 I think & the upgrade with the stainless horizontal rails was around $5,000 to $6,000 (this is from memory) so I could be wrong. I do have all of it at work so I will check it when I get in tomorrow if no-one has given you the figures. We ordered the standard staircase, with only the bottom 3 treads in the fancy wood (not huge podium style platform) and we were charged $1250. But they've installed the fancy one instead and so far are not allowing us to have the cheaper one we paid for After 4 years - we're in! Re: Help - Wisdom builders 4Dec 15, 2009 6:17 pm So do you have to pay the extra? The stairs look fantastic, is the bottom of them that's not right? Re: Help - Wisdom builders 6Dec 15, 2009 7:16 pm The bottom is really good when it is open like that, in our plans they had the std staircase & it was sort of "L shaped" at the bottom. Our staircase guy said that when they close it up like that it is really hard to get furniture & stuff up the stairs We changed ours to be like what you have but with only two landings rather than the 3 that is on the display. Hope you sort it all out quickly. Your home is looking great I bet you can't wait now, it has been such a long time coming. My plan is to have a hall table and mirror above - then a bench seat with some grass reed baskets underneath I noticed Nav & cielly had a pic of their staircase - this is what ours should look like - but the bottom 3 treads in timber http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww139/mzCielly/DSC_0102.jpg After 4 years - we're in!
