Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 14, 2009 1:25 pm Hello All, Was just wondering if anyone has had any experiences or heard anything about the new home builder Aveling Homes in Perth. We are thinking of building with them but do not know too much about them cheers for your help and info Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 2Feb 12, 2010 11:41 pm Everyone has different experiences with builders, there have been thread here about good/bad and to the extremes of those on most of the builders. I am in the process of drafting a display house with Aveling, and *touch wood* i haven't had any dramas with them, they have been quite reasonable. The salesman I have was very up front with what was/wasn't included from the display home we walked into. We walked into a few of the display homes at Banksia grove, and we found them to be the most helpful and for what we are paying we are quite happy for what is/isn't included with the build. ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 3Feb 14, 2010 6:26 pm i'm a first home buyer and my dad and me went to heaps of display villages to find the best deal. dad found the salespeople at the Aveling displays to be the best that we spoke to. we have a got a quote on a home that is a sell-down of the display home and whilst we don't get the high ceilings and fancy front that the display has we were made aware of this by the salesman. I don't think you need to worry about the extra's because i've been given heaps of extras that upgrade my kitchen, ensuite, bathroom and laundry to a display finish for only $900. i know that my dad is looking at them too so i would say go for it! Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 4Feb 14, 2010 7:46 pm Hi Dan109, Which house/plan are you building? ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 6Feb 15, 2010 11:15 pm Hi Sidewinder, My dad recieved my final quote today. I'm building a home called the Sensation. We've gone through it with a friend of my dads who works for a building comapny that apparently is the biggest first home builder in Perth. He told dad that i am getting an excellent deal and that it's not unusual for a sell down plan to have a basic front andto have no tiling to the laundry and WC. I have had quotes from 6 other builders in the same village and dad said that apples for apples i am getting the best deal with Aveling Homes. I think that i've chosen elevation 2. Sidewinder you mentioned about the front but i have had no problem so far. Dad rang the salesman when we first saw the front pictures on their website and got a price from the salesperson. Your comments have made me ask more questions but so far everything seems to be very clear. Dad actually thinks you are being unreasonable and that i should not base my decisions on people who obviously haven't read the website. He told me to tell you that his mate bought a house from one of the most well known builders in WA and that he had to spend $40,000 at Prestart. I do want people to let me know of any real problems but i don't want to be scared by people who don't understand as much as my dad's friend. By the way his company gave me a quote and they were no where near the price and inclusions that i had. Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 8Feb 18, 2010 2:41 pm I've built a couple of spec homes (not with Aveling), and have had mostly good experiences with the builders in Perth. From what i've heard from people i know that are dealing with them, they are a very good company......and i have already decided to use them on my next project! There's not many companies (regardless of what they're selling) that will be able to have every single customer happy at all times......especially when you're talking about building a house! It just really makes me laugh when i hear people commenting on having to pay builders for 'extra' items that they've probably elected to go with in the first place, and are probably all decided on before they even pay a deposit!?......how hard is it to say NO thanks? Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 9Feb 18, 2010 8:10 pm Liana- edited by mod. I have found them to be quite reasonable, we have sign the prelim contract, and able to MSG our salesman, and request info and within 3 hours they had got back to us. ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 10Feb 18, 2010 8:12 pm Dan109 Hi Sidewinder, My dad recieved my final quote today. Hi Dan, you have me mistaken, I am building with them and have no issues at all with them ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 11Mar 09, 2010 2:56 pm my only advice (having worked for several building companies in the Perth - Mandurah area) is remember that there are many people involved in the process of building your home - from sales - to drafting - to Shire/Council authorities - to administration - to scheduling - to suppliers, trades, supervisors, building inspectors, neighbours, construction managers, general managers....the list goes on all it takes is one minor incompetency and your job can turn into a nightmare do your homework read the small print prepare yourself for price rises that can happen and will happen that you signed "Ok" to in the beginning. I have heard many good things about Aveling Homes so I would recommend definitely seeing what they have to offer, but my advice also would be to research investing the extra $$ to employ a smaller builder with less employees and less room for error or disappointment. Just a thought folks. Not bagging any builders, just letting you know the bigger more popular ones may not be the best choice for you. Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 12Mar 17, 2010 9:32 pm Signed up late last year with Aveling Homes - First impressions good, however after a few Months dealing with Aveling Homes some disapointment with customer service. Going by the web page they are looking for salespersons, estimator, supervisors.... so perhaps they have overcommitted spreading themselves thin and not providing reasonable customer service after signing on the dotted line. Will keep you informed about the performance during the Building Process WA Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 13Mar 17, 2010 10:56 pm Zorzi Builders http://www.zorzibuilders.com.au Also to be noted while we were doing the rounds of the display homes the sales reps at the Aveling Homes display had mentioned that Aveling Homes have an association with Zorzi Builders, a Premier Perth Home builder with many awards, was not told of the exact association however the name Zorzi Builders was dropped by more than 1 Aveling sales rep. look at the homes built by Zorzi...WOW 6mil+ not expecting one of these however be great if as a Aveling Home Builder Client we will be treated just as a 6mil+ client ... Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 15Mar 19, 2010 1:46 am Hi Liana, Signed Up early December 2009, we had purchased a block of land which settled October 2009... So We Are Ready and they are not quite so ready. Xmas period shutdown delays Plans with lots and lots of errors more delays Just had the prestart meeting and recieved the variations back, the Lady who helps with prestart nice to deal with and very pleasent. however from the looks we may have recieved someone elses variations... or they could be ours, just a few more problems. With the lower end builders as painful as it is you have to be ontop of it all the way though, my general opinion they are pretty much the same at this level... no pain no gain Cheers, Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 16Mar 20, 2010 12:10 pm Zorzi have a bloody good roof carpenter Well one in particular Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 17Mar 21, 2010 11:59 am Hi Fu Manchu. From the Zorzi website "We employ master tradespeople that are considered to be the best in their field. Yet, surprisingly our homes commence in value from around $1.5 million." So i have no doubt they have a very good roof carpenter. do you know the carpenter? As for Aveling Homes, we are working our way through the initial pre-construction process and believe that some issues that has caused us a stressfull pre-construction period could have been avoided if the company worked a little more closely and communicated with us more. IMO You have to communicate and give information to your prospective client to get them to trust you, it is difficult to do a deal not based on truth and trust. Cheers, Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 19Apr 01, 2010 3:52 pm I like this forum already!! We just signed the papers for the Sensation with Aveling last night and arelooking really forward to picking the bricks and stuff like that. If you can help me with website, so I can get a headstart, that would be great! Sacha Re: Aveling homes Perth---Info? 20Apr 02, 2010 12:25 am Hi Sacha if you visit the following web site (Aveling Homes) and under the links you will have the suppliers Aveling Homes use, but you should note some items are "builders Standard" what you can select from, Aveling will provide this list, anything else will be a variation. IMO they have gone with the best brick company supplier as far as selections (Midland Brick). This is the web link. http://avelinghomes.com.au/links/ Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 75917 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
