Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 13, 2009 8:37 pm Hi, Can anyone please tell me how would the electrician know to install the power points. The plaster was painted throughout the house before the electrician located and made appropriate holes for each power point. My question is, how is the electrician going to find and install electrical points without making a mess of the paint? Normally it's plaster stage, then electrician makes holes for each point, then they paint, then electrician returns to complete his task. Please respond if you can shed some light on this, and is this normal? Simba. Paint then electrical fit out. For us I noticed marking on the concrete where switches and power points were going. Kinda looked like dollar signs (S for switch im guessing and then slashes for the number) If they have the electrical plan and mount everything at standard dimensions from floor / walls, there shouldnt be any problem finding things.
