Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 10, 2009 1:45 pm Has anyone used a charcoal or dark grey or similar colour for their splasback? Either tiles or Glass. If you have, can you post a pic so I can see how it looks with all different colours around it. Or if you have any opinions on using a colour like this, I would love to hear from you. In the hair washing area of the salon she has a matching benchtop to the charcoal splashback, that looks good. Re: Splasbacks - Charcoal and Dark Greys 3Dec 11, 2009 7:44 am We're having dark splashback in a black-mirror finish. It is called "stopsol grey" No pics of the kitchen as of yet - we don't even have a roof on our place yet BUT here's the colour selections to give you an idea: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ we have a high gloss white vinyl wrap for our cupboards, essastone "basmati" benchtops and then the stopsol grey splash. We have put a deposit on some beautiful basalt tiles (dark grey), and pretty much everything else in the house is white except the western red cedar windows. Should look very clean and minimalist, and the splashback will be a big feature. Then we get to dress the place up with our furniture =))) We didn't want to add colour to our kitchen because we didn't want to limit our choice for decor colours at a later date - and everything had to go with very dark floors as we are using the slab for thermal mass (the darker the floor, the more heat should be absorbed, the better the house should keep warm in winter!). The stopsol grey splashback adds a bit of "special" without having to opt for something really bright and out there.
