Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 09, 2009 3:31 pm We've finalised demolition of our house but the council won't approve it because the silt fencing for sediment control has not been installed. The demolition company won't install it. Is this something that we can do ourselves? Any guidance on costs and effort involved? Is it just for the front of the land ? or all around the land ? I think it is crazy..since masterton will install their own once they start work..... Re: Can I install silt fencing myself? 3Dec 09, 2009 4:58 pm You can install it yourself, cost will really depend on what the Council stipulates in the DA and their own erosion control policy (ECSP). Have a look on the landcom (NSW) website and they produce a nifty flyer about erosion control which will point you in the right direction on how to go about it. Andy Re: Can I install silt fencing myself? 4Dec 09, 2009 8:24 pm Yep I had excatly the same problem with my knock down. Ended up finding a guy on the Central Coast that did a silt fence for $6.50 / L mtr That's a fantastic result! Happy you got it sorted out. cheers Simeon 6 8630 Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that.
