I am also building with Places in Tarneit, and nearing lock up stage. I have been sort of confused as to whether to get external inspection done or not. Now that you pointed out issues, I am steering towards doing it? What are your thoughts? Was otherwise the construction alright? Have they completed in 20 weeks, and did you find any more issues than you have already mentioned? Good luck, hope you move in before Christmas. T1ms Southies I would insist that your benchtop be installed as per the display home I am assuming the display home benchtop was also stone & also 3 metres long ? Yep, they are in the same length, same type, etc etc.. We will tell the SS that we want the benchtop to be installed as per display house even though this might delay our xmas handover Re: Help me to identify these issues before PCI next week... 11Dec 16, 2009 9:40 am Maniradha10 Hey Tims..Are you building the Glendale 28 as that has a long bench? Have they completed in 20 weeks, and did you find any more issues than you have already mentioned? I'm building Galley 23 and I think Glendale 28 has the same kitchen bench size as ours. Need to double check though. In term of quality of work, I think they have done a pretty good job, well I know there are some issues that I'm complaining about, but hey no builder is perfect! As long as they are willing to fix all those problem, I'm quite happy. Also, they have been pretty fast on their job. It only took 4 months from the day they poured the slab till PCI. Yesterday we had our PCI and found a few more issues. For the peace of mind, I think you might want to get the external inspection done into your property. So are you building Glendale 28 at the moment? do you have the same problem for the kitchen bench? Maniradha10 Good luck, hope you move in before Christmas. Apparently not We will have our re-inspection to be done on 8th of jan. -Tim Re: Help me to identify these issues before PCI next week... 12Dec 16, 2009 2:33 pm T1ms Maniradha10 Hey Tims..Are you building the Glendale 28 Good to know you are happy with the build. 4 months is really good. Yeah, Glendale 28, and you know what- I checked out the bench at the display home in Tarneit- it has the joinery just where the sink is so I guess that is how it needs to be done as the bench is quite long. Good luck and I hope all your issues are sorted out before you move in. Can you also tell me if you though of getting external inspection done? What do you suggest, should I get it done, or should be okay without it? as that has a long bench?
