Is the setout point for the waffle pods critical and if not why does the engineers
drawings specify a set out point
Thanks Darryl

Could that be the same thing? Don't know the answer. Googled already? Why did you ask, if I may ask My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Waffle pod slab setout 3Dec 06, 2009 8:01 pm Is it single or double storey? If it is double storey then it probably has been arranged so that at key points you will have load bearing over a pier and that should be under an intersection point of waffle beams. We had two start pods on ours. One for the garage and one for the main house. Dan Re: Waffle pod slab setout 4Dec 06, 2009 8:11 pm Hmm - there you go! Didn't think much of it, but yep, we had the same - one starting point for the garage and one for the diagonally opposite corner of the house. Still not sure why is this question important to you - can you share? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Waffle pod slab setout 5Dec 06, 2009 8:46 pm The reason i ask this is the pods have been set out half a pod from what the set out shows which means a internal corner of the slab is halfway into a pod and it shows a beam at that point just like a professional opinion if there is one out there Thanks Darryl ps does not affect any footings as they are only in perimeter The Soil classification has little to do with piers. The purpose of the classing of the soil is to identify the clay content and the "average expected range of movement… 2 9855 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16147 4 6201 |
