Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ready to go...Waiting and waiting..and drinking 581Dec 12, 2010 8:43 pm Slacker am I. Yes I am. So.....we've had PCI!!! (not that is was that exciting really because DH is there everyday anyway!) only 5 pages of new stuff to fix....and an electrician who is smoking something because he is seriously a ****head. (I beeped myself). No really a really big ****head. BIG ONE!! Dumb arse. Anyhoo, so still haven't heard on handover date as they are seeing what they can get done in time - they have two weeks but some of the stuff is fiddly and may take some time, particularly as the electrician is a ****head. So in summary the big ticket items are done plus as the kitchen sink was acid sprayed by the dumb arsed brick cleaner, it's that's been changed. DH was in a little pain watching them smash the CS to bits to change it. We were hoping to salvage some but it wasn't doable - they really smashed it. Heaps still heaps to do. The plastering, painting has been crappy so that's going to have to be redone. Powder room basin installed backwards (still) sensor in pantry installed where the pantry cupboards are supposed to go (dumb arses), still missing second heating/cooling controller upstairs, need some door adjustments, bin in kitchen is not installed, and some drawers hit the pantry door, timber sliding door needs major adjusting, as does bifold and entry door and a few other things.... We'll see what happens. Anyhoo - here are some incognito piccies. Full pics are on my FB page! Hopefully they will get back to you with a date soon, I can't believe how many builders can't commit to a date! Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: Ready to go...PCI DONE! (and some incognito pics!) 590Jan 09, 2011 11:07 am Gees I’ve been slack. Although in fairness a little busy Got the keys!! ! Just a few days before Christmas…however we haven't moved in yet... Still to do: • Painter had to come back in the new year to repaint – still hasn’t finished the outside because he forgot his ladder…I know I know! • Roof tiles are to be sprayed as there is some paint damage due to transit • Bifold door needs to be fixed, a PITA to close so we aren’t opening it…defeats the purpose really! • Outside pipe to be relocated before we can concrete the blind side • Brick work to be cleaned where it was redone • Kitchen splashback to be replaced ….drama here! All done, and then the realised that as we upgraded our rangehood they cut the splashback incorrectly. Fixed, but wrong colour and now they have to redo it all. Slightly complicated because we are probably going to get appliances put in before they do it, so that’s going to be interesting • Powder room basin still the wrong way • Feature wall lighting in powder room and bedroom to be done – on order supplier has run out of stock • Other stuff that I can’t remember.. What has been done! • Electricians finally got their s**t together (I beeped myself) and fixed up everything and my pantry is now done! Pics of pantry to come as I'm on a different computer and the pic isn't here.... What we’ve been doing • Relocation of cross over and concerete to just behind garage door so we can use something of the outside – washing! • Driveway to be done week we move in • Blinds to be installed this week • Professional cleaner for the house….stupid back is shot so someone is going to completely clean everything – including my walls and cupboards! • Window cleaner is coming – they are disgraceful • Buying furniture! • Moving in! Very busy couple of weeks coming up, and am alternating between very excited and super stressed. Still so much to do in terms of moving in and out….so I’m running around like crazy person…but it’s all good. I want loads of benchspace for all my appliances and then open shelves above just like yours for all the TW I also have 5 packing cartons of TW plus what I've already crammed into my regular two door pantry. Plus 4 overhead cupboards and a pot drawer in my current kitchen. My name is Pinchy, and I am a TW addict Congrats on getting the keys Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
