Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 05, 2009 5:56 pm Garage bricks have been done. We have a roof, gutters, fascia and of course slab and frame. Waiting for the windows/doors to go in.
Re: Dollarz House 2Dec 05, 2009 6:04 pm That's either a very tall garage, or a very small door..... Love the bricks. Re: Dollarz House 3Dec 05, 2009 6:10 pm Re: Dollarz House 4Jan 21, 2010 7:53 pm Our bricks have been cleaned now and I am very impressed with the impact cleaning has. The portico part hasn't been constructed yet. Cornices should be going up soon. I'm looking forward to the cabinets and tiling to be done. This part I think will be very exciting indeed! I can't wait until the kitchen tiles are in too. I feel a bit less stressed with things now. I appreciate all the effort people have put into their blogs etc and posting pictures. I thoroughly enjoy looking at people's kitchen's and bathrooms and their build as well. I am frequently on here and plan to at some stage share some photos etc. I do have a blog but I have nothing on it. Nothing really to show at the moment except plaster-to me it's boring and messy. Re: Dollarz House 6Jan 30, 2010 10:07 am I haven't worked out how to have the text either above or below photos. Re: Dollarz House 7Mar 03, 2010 10:19 pm I have been slack with my blog and lack of photos. Just for an update. Painting commenced this week! Not long now only less than 8wks away and counting down! So exciting. I want the tilers to come in and I am sure stress levels then will increase as this is what I am worried about most...how good they will look and where they cut the tiles etc. Not long now. Need to start organising our junk and packing up. Oh more fun and stress! We have also been looking at aggregate too but haven't come to a conclusion as yet. Re: Dollarz House 8Mar 04, 2010 11:23 am Dollar I haven't worked out how to have the text either above or below photos. If you look at the "html" part of the editor you can cut and paste the picture code, well thats what I do anyway Blog: http://funmore-residence.blogspot.com/ Forum: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=21109 Construction Start - 19/09/09 Slab Poured - 21/10/09 Frame Completed - 25/11/09 Lockup - 22/12/09 Fixing - 22/02/10 Handover & Moved In 30/04/2010 Re: Dollarz House 10Mar 04, 2010 7:38 pm OMG! We have our stone in the kitchen. We so didn't expect to have it in so soon! Looks stunning in my opinion and very happy with our choice! I want the tiles to arrive so I can have a peak at them. Painting is well underway and they are doing a neat job. I can't wait until we move in! Re: Dollarz House 11Mar 04, 2010 8:05 pm stone!!! How exciting!!! I hope ours follows soon! Our build is travelling at the same pace as yours!!! Re: Dollarz House 12Mar 04, 2010 9:10 pm I know Erin. Totally wasn't expecting it either. We only went to check out the paint and sure enough the stone! Suppose they needed it in before the tilers come in. Tilers should be about a week or so away and I guess all is go, go, go from then on. We have slowly started to look at furniture but now focusing on the exterior stuff like what finish for driveway, alfresco and entrance. Probably go with aggregate. I really want to start gardening but limited to the back area at the moment. Re: Dollarz House 13Mar 11, 2010 10:56 pm I have a feeling our tiles may be at the house!!! Fingers crossed. Going to have a peak tomorrow! More to stress about and whether the laying of the tiles works out well. Re: Dollarz House 14Mar 16, 2010 8:06 pm Tiling started today!!!! Yippee! Looks like they should be finished by end of the week! They have started in all wet areas including the kitchen! I'm excited but a little sad too as I know nothing new will be happening soon and we would have moved in. Then only the gardening to complete. Garage doors up. Will add more pics to my blog! Portico is underway! It's been a fun, stressful and it's all coming to a happy end. Re: Dollarz Houseupdated with new photos 15Mar 31, 2010 10:02 pm As promised I have been really slack with posting photos and keeping my blog up to date. I've been so busy. I'm not sure how I feel about the bathroom and laundry and WRC but I am thinking we may change it and carry the black theme through. WRC deliberately not done in dark colours in order for the solid timber grey ironbark floors to be the feature not the cabinets etc. Main bathroom I am not convinced yet. It's not that I don't like it I think it's more the way the colour schemes make me feel. I don't know what I would have changed them too if we had another chance and maybe carrying the black through would make the house too 'heavy'. Laundry wall may paint a red colour or maybe a grey and same for the main bathroom. Facade isn't finished yet. This was the hardest to do. Kept changing our minds all the time as to the type of materials to be used. Here's a few pictures anyway as I feel a bit guilty not posting any regularly and absorbing everyone elses photos. Kitchen. I love the tiles. I don't care if I need to scrub them everyday to ensure their cleanliness. Initially did want slumped glass splash back but wanted more of a tile feature in the end. Love all the pics! OMG your kitchen looks AMAZING! I love how the splashback is so bold, yet makes the room look so awesome! Re: Dollarz House...photos-kitchen-ensuite....etc 31.03.2010 18Apr 01, 2010 9:41 am I love the kitchen too. Thanks. Other half complains the kitchen is too big but I believe you can never have one big enough. Aggregate is getting done today I believe. Spoke to the concrete guy they other day and we saw a big pile of cement/rock stuff yesterday. Re: Dollarz House...photos-kitchen-ensuite....etc 31.03.2010 20Apr 09, 2010 10:45 pm Aggregate has started! Yippee!
