we want timber floors to the living areas and this is to be done after handover ,so iam on the hunt for as much info as possible .
when it comes to timber floors there is
1.parquetry - hasnt crossed my mind but it looks great ,but then on a concrete slab i think its needs to be laid on a sub floor and glued and sanded and polished and could be expensive .. but we love it
2. engineered floors - easy to lay as good as the hard wood floors and comes in all timbers but they say its hard to replace if damaged , its the cheaper option. they lay it on the concrete using the T&G (tongue & groove system ) with secret nails and Quads whatever that means
we have left out hard wood floors due to cost and the hassle of sanding etc & laminate .
I also want any good timber places in the south east of melbourne. thanks
