Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2009 11:13 am It's been a long time coming .... but finally the renderers have finished. Their finish and workmanship is top notch and we are pleased with the final results. They used Rockcote acrylic render, our main colour is Solver's Lundy Grey, feature colours are Taubman's Beaver Creek (dark grey) and Solver's Balsamic (purple). Feature wall tiles are metalic 600 x 300. We have a Dune roof and guttering. We have been very nervous about our colour selections because it is outside of the norm. But when the tiling went up the other day, we breathed a sigh of relief, and are very happy with the overall look. We are waiting for the cedar look (Teak) garage door and we will have wooden with 6 glass panels double front doors. Here are a couple of pics taken in different lights of the front elevation. Looks so good, it looks photoshopped!! Although I think it could look a little better if the metallic tiles went right around that pillar - excluding the part above the front doors.. I personally dont like the render 'framing' around the tiles. But, the colours complement each other well!!! Wait til the garage door and front doors come on, it will look amazing!!!! Re: Our renderers have finished. Here is the finished result. 11Dec 02, 2009 6:51 pm Jaelee your house looks amazing. I love the little side bit off the garage. Love the tiles and everything else. Re: Our renderers have finished. Here is the finished result. 14Dec 02, 2009 7:11 pm wow, Your home looks amazing ! Custom build Gold Coast . My build : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=21952 Its all happening!!! Our build started 24 September !!!! Re: Our renderers have finished. Here is the finished result. 15Dec 02, 2009 7:21 pm Thanks you all so much for the positive feedback. SaltnPepper, the feature was supposed to originally be limestone ashlar, but we changed it to tiles at the very start of our contract, but didn't think about the recessed bit until it was done. I haven't done a blog. Our build has been quite a drama and lots of stress. It's not been a pleasant experience, but finally we are getting somewhere. We signed PPA in February 2008 and have been told it's still going to be another 12 weeks after tiling (they only have to tile the wet areas, that started 2 weeks ago, but one minute they are there, the next week nothing ..... the story of our build I don't want to go in to too much detail here on this forum about our builder. On a good note, we are loving our house and that's the main thing Here are a couple more pics for you. I love taking photos so will post some more when the house starts to come together. Inside is very neutral .. the drama is on the outside Note: The tiles haven't been grouted yet. They will have a very dark grey grout. We are hoping to do wall tiling with this metallic tile inside the house, on the entry wall. The purple render looks awesome in this pic!! Very very cool Re: Our renderers have finished.
