Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 01, 2009 2:09 pm How are we going to deal with having nothing done for so long?? We wont even have anyone else's pictures to look at because they will be in a break too Im sure some of the time will go quickly with christmas and the busy times that brings but its still going to be hard! I am really hoping we get a roof on by christmas. We are building our own design so I think this will give us a good indication of what the house is going to look like in real life! Then if thats on, we will probably spend the time going and sitting there, perhaps with a few drinks, planning what we are gonna do where etc. Re: What is everyone gonna do over the Christmas break? 2Dec 01, 2009 4:55 pm I'm going to get inspiration by buying a heap of housing/home decorating magazines..... ooohhhh and don't forget the post xmas sales - homewares, furniture etc all on sale!!! ( make 2 1/2 hour dash to see inlaws) Have Mum visit. Maybe plant a few things if it's not too hot. Wish for more $ so we can do more things, moan if it's too warm to plant things. Do more painting. Finish the 2nd curtain for our bedroom. Have an end of year clean out of any paperwork I will no longer need. Party, eat, drink and visit friends in perth for NYE maybe. Take my youngest to swimming lessons. Sit on my butt and check out H1 and other various online places I can't resist frequenting when at home. My summer will go far too fast. Our house will be stalled at frame stage so looking forward to having time to rough in extra electrical. 2. If it wasn't going to be so damn hot we'd tackle the backyard retaining wall job and have them done in a few days, but screw doing that on a 30+ degree day. My face would be this colour from the heat- 3. Take my man and my cat to Rosebud and laze around in the sun; the former will be attached to his esky and the latter, tethered to the clothesline. They'll both have a great time. 4. Save money.
