Re: netadelle's build - Not moving in this weekend - tiling pics 283Feb 24, 2010 10:42 pm So we are not moving in this weekend I rang the tiler tonight, and he said there was a bit of a bow in our floor that he didn't expect so he has had to spend a bit of time making sure he had the right glue levels etc So next weekend it is. However here are some tiling pics for you all. Look at the care taken to cut around this skirting board (in our rental the tiles just go diagonally and they filled it in with grout) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Family area Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I came up with a compromise on my daughter wanting her room all black, and have bought her a new bedspread. Re: netadelle's build - Not moving in this weekend - tiling pics 285Feb 25, 2010 11:36 am Hi Netadelle, Love what you have picked for your daughter. If the bed is black, paint the bedsides black as well. A purple feature wall behind her bed would look great (not all walls). Love the doona cover and the curtains, the light will just set it off nicely. I think you have been spot on with it. Cheers, Carolyn Carolyn Re: netadelle's build - Not moving in this weekend - tiling pics 286Feb 25, 2010 11:45 am Hi again, I have looked at everyone else's responses to this and I disagree that the bedsides should be white. I think this will compete too much with the pattern on the bed and curtains. You have your design here, if you try to make a feature of the bedsides as well I think it will be too much. Black will be more dramatic and go with the black mirror and light fitting. As I said in my previous post, black would be better against a feature wall and if you use white I think it will compete too much with the white in the linen. I also think extra pillows and cushions on the bed in black and white would be a mix if you can match the colours. I might be wrong about this! maybe michelle could give some insite. Cheers, Carolyn Carolyn Re: netadelle's build - Not moving in this weekend - tiling pics 287Feb 25, 2010 6:56 pm Very nice ... similar colours to our house. Love the bedroom ideas, you daughter must be very happy. Re: netadelle's build - Not moving in this weekend - tiling pics 288Feb 25, 2010 6:58 pm Those kitchen floor tiles are gorgeous. Jodie80 Such great looking tiles netadelle!! And your kitchen is amazing So big!! So many cupboards!! And I have so much crap to fill them with! I discovered I have a whole cupboard of white platters and bowls. I've no idea where they all came from, I think they have been breeding in the cupboard the last 5 years! And WOW at your tiler!! Amazing work =) Any chance you could PM me his details so that we can get a quote if our tiler falls through? (family favour for ours - might still turn around and claim busy work period when we need it done) Re: netadelle's build - More tiling pics 293Mar 03, 2010 9:44 am Hi all, We went to check out or site yesterday and discovered the plumbers had been and caused damage to our newly laid slab (they had driven an earthmover onto the slab to dig trenches down the side of the house).. Bigger issue though is the damage they caused to the next door neighbour's brand new colorbond fence! They have dumped rocks and lumps of concrete against the fence causing 2 panels to be damaged beyond repair. They are so large we can not move them by hand so are still resting against the fence! Neighbour hasn't moved in yet so hopefully haven't noticed, but they definitely will.. Can anyone advise whether the builder/ contractors are responsible for fixing this? We assume they are, but have a feeling they are going to say it is not their responsibility! Netadelle- sorry to hijack your page but hopefully one of your many followers will be able to help me with this.. Re: netadelle's build - More tiling pics 294Mar 03, 2010 10:36 am The garage floor looks so much better with the paint and it will be much easier to keep clean! Your floor tiles look great, id be very happy with them and the job done so far. NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! Try calling your SS, it is his job to chase up the tradies who made the mess and get them to fix it. boiselfish The garage floor looks so much better with the paint and it will be much easier to keep clean! Your floor tiles look great, id be very happy with them and the job done so far. That was the idea boiselfish! Also I don't like the thought of tracking the cement dust into the house etc. However it will be a shoes off house! That little landing outside the kitchen is going to be swamped with shoes!
