Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 23, 2009 8:02 pm Hi all, I can't remember how I uploaded my plan last time so have just provided a link to the last thread I posted on it. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25332 I am just after some opinions on how I should layout our rumpus room. We want it to be the main living/tv/lounge area but because it is beside the alfresco I am unsure where to position the TV and couch. The wall on the right won't have any windows but I was hoping to have some windows on the back wall so you can still see out into the backyard and so there is some light still coming in. The storage cupboard will not be in this room as we are changing that so we just have one long cupboard in the laundry (to make it bigger) Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Advice on layout of rumpus and where to put furniture...... 2Nov 23, 2009 8:27 pm I'd put a long couch along the back wall, provided the windows don't go to the floor. Also on the right wall, so it,s like an L shape seating. Then telly on the wall, backing up to the laundry cupboard. Perhaps some shelving there too if there is space. Then maybe some seating (armchair/s?) by the alfresco door with a little side table, away from the telly, to read at. buzz Re: Advice on layout of rumpus and where to put furniture...... 3Nov 23, 2009 8:57 pm thanks. was actually thiking the same thing but really don't want to lose the light from the windows. I can either have one high window or keep windows as is and move the couch forward a little.... would thi look stupid? Also, hadn't thought about how to furnish living/meals area until now Do you think I could put two long windows on the side and put a tv between them and a couch facing that, and then the kitchen table between the 2 areas? We loved this plan but am now thinking I prob should have thought about furnishin it beforehand Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 From the information posted it looks to me your rumpus room is nothing more than extended garage. That will present a number of challenges. Single brick wall between… 2 7757 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
