We had 2 pallets untouched, and another 3 palets made up from pieces left on the ground (it was wet and the bottom row were waterloged) Plenty to build retaining walls, a BBQ area and/or a grand entrance for the driveway. (they also put a bucket of water down the drains to stop the stench from the sewer. the tilers have also started tiling our splashback but stopped when i advised them a power point is missing. I contacted the SS and told him the issues that we noted on the weekend and he advised he saw all our little postit notes we left around the place. Only thing i forgot to tell him was we are not happy with the toilet door that has a 1 inch gap at the top on the inside SS advised eaves will go in this week, the tilers will finish bathrooms and kitchen and the painters will be onsite next week he said it will all happen very quickly now and he is trying to get the house finished All in all its looking to be a good couple of weeks with alot of things coming too an end. Storm water will be installed on the weekend. I will post some pictures soon Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 71Apr 27, 2010 4:30 pm Sounds great Good idea with post it notes Love piccies Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 72Apr 27, 2010 4:33 pm jessie87 tpin70 sorry no new photo's today. We hung around the house did some work and relaxed alot. even though its an empty unpainted house with the kitchen in it still feels kind of homely and we didnt want to leave. Infact everytime we go over to the house now it gets harder and harder to leave .. It wont be long now .. upto 8 weeks from lockup apparently (lockup 2 weeks ago). With the amount of working going on and after the chat i had with our SS i think it will progress very quickly Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 73Apr 27, 2010 4:36 pm Thats great It will be lovely to have a 'home'. Such an exciting time Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 74Apr 27, 2010 5:45 pm tpin70 Only thing i forgot to tell him was we are not happy with the toilet door that has a 1 inch gap at the top on the inside Hi tpin70 I suspect you will find this has something to do with being able to lift the door off the hinges if someone collapses in the loo. I think it's a legal requirement. I just checked ours, prompted by your post, and the toilet door has different hinges to the other doors, a deeper stop at the top (about 25mm) and a bigger gap between the door and frame (about 20mm). Cheers zeke Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 75Apr 27, 2010 6:24 pm Wow Tpin, nothing much can stop you now. You must be feeling pretty excited. I can't even imagine how I'll feel when I can see my kitchen and tiles being put in. Your patience has paid off. We are very excited .. and cant wait now. I understand how frustrated you are now but keep the chin up because once you loosed the salesman everything will go sweet for you, I truley believe it. If your salesman hadnt stuffed everything up you would be where we are or just about there. It will go very quickly once you pass our current issues and I for one look forward to following your build blog Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 78Apr 27, 2010 6:36 pm Thanks Tpin, I believe you're right. It's really unfortunate and we should have put our foot down after our first appt when we realized that our consultant was distracted and seemed somewhat forgetful. I know that others have said their consultants were great but Rossdale is VERY SLOW. I can live with that and I think we've gotten through the worst of it. Just waiting for drawings and contracts now. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 79Apr 29, 2010 2:34 pm I have to say the most unpleasant part of the whole thing with Rossdale was during the entire time the sales guy was dealing with us. After the sales guy it was all smiles (mostly). But to be fair on the sales guy, it wasn't a huge disaster for us, but definitely if you compare the entire process of building I must agree with Tpin in saying the sales guy and money side all the way up to the contract signing was the most stressful. After the slab was put down, you actually get to see the fruits of all your hard work. So something to look forward to Robinred. End Feb 09-Deposit and paperwork Nov 09-Slab!
