Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 21Mar 15, 2010 6:42 pm OMG OMG OMG !!!! IS YOUR BRICKING FINISHED??? CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is the slowest bricking I have ever seen. You must be soooo relieved that it's finished and that you are having your kitchen ceilings done as requested. Hopefully the rest of the build will be a lot faster. PCI Done Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 23Mar 18, 2010 8:55 pm haha .. it is the worlds slowest bricking and unfortunatly he is still not finished He will be back next week to complete the sills but all is good, he is a very nice guy and has done a very good job thus far. it has just been very painful watching the grass grow quicker than the bricks lol. For 6 weeks ive been calling him "mate" because i forgot his name but today i finally found out his name which i have changed anyway .. from now on we will just call him "big AL" We went to the house today and their is now a plaster sign on the front window and marks right through the house. I was advised today that we are looking good to have the gyprock done next week so we have to pull our finger out and put the soundscreen insulation in the hometheater over the weekend. bugger i am working all weekend 12 hour shifts so ill have to do when i finish and then go to work looking like Hills Guy Looking good, and such a nice part of the world (we are building in Inglewood) thats a lovely area up there .. and i dont think you can compare it to where we are .. inglewood is alot nicer .. I used to live up the top of Lower north east road so it was a short drive into the hills to inglewood .. will have more photos next week once the brickys shed is moved Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 24Mar 23, 2010 7:40 pm insulation installed today and gyprock delivered. lots and lots of gyprock. Now for us to install our soundscreen insulation in the home theatre and await the gyprock to be installed. its starting to look like a house inside instead of a big box full of wood Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 27Mar 26, 2010 1:59 am Heya neighbour...lol I see your house getting built as i drive past....im just round the corner on Barossa... and yeah, your bricks were slow lol.... I love your hallway niche. We're having one too although hubby keeps trying to talk me out of it (trying to save money). But they don't cost much (well unless you have a light, which is a must in my book). We haven't stipulated size yet but about the same as yours I think. They are steaming along Re: Building "Houghton" - Lockup finally 33Apr 08, 2010 1:51 pm Well the day has arrived we are now passengers until the house is finished. The big green door was put up today, not hinged to my discust just plonked and nailed in place with the rest of the windows and doors locked. I feel a bit sad in a way because we enjoyed the freedom of walking in and out when we wanted too now we must hope there is a contractor there if we want to have a look inside. the alternative is to become window cleaners I hit the SS up today for a tentative time frame for completion but he was non commital. he told me he will have a good idea once the tiles have been laid which is abit annoying noting the only thing left after the tiles will be paint and handover .. ahh well we will keep plugging along Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 34Apr 08, 2010 2:02 pm remember you can get the keys for 50 bucks from rossdale, and they usually let you keep them over the weekend, you know you wanna! we got a toilet delivered today is that a sign that soon there will be some action a plenty on the block? Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 35Apr 08, 2010 2:15 pm hoffdog remember you can get the keys for 50 bucks from rossdale, and they usually let you keep them over the weekend, you know you wanna! we got a toilet delivered today is that a sign that soon there will be some action a plenty on the block? woot the pooper machine .. it sure is a sign .. our dunny didnt arrive until after the slab so your on your way .. I wish it was their on the weekend when we were up there i would have used it .. i had to go down and find a display house with toilet paper .. Scott salsbury double story job worked a treat .. nice house also as for the keys .. i will wait a few weeks .. we are waiting now for the eaves to be installed then we will do our storm water .. .. we are going to try and dig by hand lovely other halfs idea for a workout then the fence .. by that time we should have noticed a bit more action inside the house and it will be worth getting the key The bricking was finally complete today also .. all the sills done and the remainder of the alfresco (inbetween the sliding doors) Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 36Apr 10, 2010 8:22 pm netadelle Hi tpin70 - Your build looks great! We went over to the house today .. 2 days after lock up and 3 x 2nd fix carpenters cutting all the wood work for the doors to be hung and preparing all the rooms and doors. At this rate they will be ready for the kitchen and wardrobes next week .. Fingers crossed they keep going at this pace .. It gives the rest of us Rossdale builders hope. this Niche was part of the original plan for the houghton. we never even thought about removing it. It wasnt until they started to put it in whilst building the frame that we realised it was there .. so alas I did not allow for a light above it .. but I will get a photo of it with a torch aimed at it for you .. Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building Rossdale Homes "Houghton" - Adelaide 38Apr 12, 2010 9:40 pm Went around to the house today and they 2nd fix carpenters are working away. they have most of the internal door frames done and the doors hung. they have also almost finished all the skirting boards. After speaking too them they said they dont know what the SS is doing because the cournice's have not been put in the house before lockup which is standard practice. We expect at this rate we will probably see some cabinetry in the house sometime in the next couple of weeks.
