Recently we built a new house in Cranbourne North. However the builder put the fence in the wrong position and cause my backyard smaller than the plan. We raised the issue to him when we went for final inspection, however he said maybe the house set back a little bit further. At that time, we only use our own meter to measure (not the professional one), and maybe not accurate at all, so we accept his excuss and moved in later on. Now my neighbour's house just finished, and according to the subdivision plan, our fencing should be align in a line. However it is not, there is a 0.7m difference. Then we escalated the issue to our builder, but the supervisor don't want to come down to have a look, as he said we already sign the inspection form.
Any friends could give us some advice how we should do next. Could we raise the issue to council, as our fencing now is over the easement because of the wrong size.
Many thanks.
