We're using New Home Inspections but Kevin is on holiday so Rob will be the one doing it. Anyone got any experience with Rob inspection their house? MyHomeoneThread Our Oxford22 Blog Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- We GOT FRAME!!! 45Apr 02, 2010 8:09 am Hi Draco ,we are building with CH and the form works is in place and work is in progress on the form works and has been since the 18th .Slab pour is scheduled for wed the 7th . Prior to your slab pour did some one from DJM surveyors inspect the slab ,because I was told by a person at DJM its not their role to be on site prior to the pour.any concerns about the form works see my SS.. My CLO informed me sometime back that a structural engineer will inspect the form works prior to the pour. So someone is contradicting someone,on tuesday Iam planning on straightening this out .Unfortunately my SS is on leave and wont be back till the 9th,thats not a good thing either. the picture shows styrofoam not in place and on an angle and this got me worried, hopefully they fix this by WED http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/8974/p1000084s.jpg Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- We GOT FRAME!!! 46Apr 02, 2010 4:28 pm Hi Andy. I am not really sure if someone from the company that did my drawing inspected the slab or pre-slab. But it says in the building permit that pre-slab and steel for slab are mandatory inspections so I just assumed that someone really inspected it. I will ask my SS for the inspection report next week. Sorry can't help that much. I can't believe that they just leave the windows like that, especially the alfesco door. Just one stone dropping there and that would definitely break. Also, the frame was inspected by Rob of New Home Inspections last Tuesday. They were still working on the frame when Rob inspected it but he assured me that he would be able to still do a complete assessment since most of the frame was already done. So hopefully we will have roof pretty soon.. MyHomeoneThread Our Oxford22 Blog Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- ROOF!! ROOF!! and a Leak :( 48Apr 19, 2010 10:38 pm Yipeee.. Finally we got roof but then again, we also got a roof leak. But the sarking did it's other job; catching roof leaks. But I don't know if that means that the roof sarking getting wet will affect its performance in reflecting heat. Also, the bricks had been delivered but not sure if they are right. They seem to look chocolate but not really sure. Maybe they will look better once they are cleaned. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, I am not too sure about the decision on upgrading the alfresco doors. Now I don't have any walls on the side, it's all glass sliding doors. Well, at least that will make it look a bit more spacious. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ More on my blog... Did you have anti-ponding boards put in as well? MyHomeoneThread Our Oxford22 Blog Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- Cabinets and Benchtops !!! 51May 10, 2010 8:12 pm We went with the large stacker doors and glad we did makes the place more airy Had a big win today heres how it went Frame stage inspection done by Urban property inspections 9 points highlighted not keeping with BCA : 1 .Builder said - Well 7 of them will be fixed the rest even though its in the truss plan is not really necessary as it is common practise 2 The surveyor - I rang him he said why waste your money on PBI even though BCA says they dont conform ,I can go through the frame again and find another 100 defects . I am thinking so its ok to go 110kmh even though its a 100kmh zone as long as you dont have an accident.sorry the fine sticks . 3. conclusion -builder relents under pressure and fixes all the defects not within the BCA even a 10mm bottom plate overhang. It was done by putting pressure on the construction manager not the SS. by the way my SS is nice guy easy to get along with Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- Cabinets and Benchtops !!! 52May 10, 2010 8:22 pm Your house is looking fantastic Re: Draco's Oxford22 -- Cabinets and Benchtops !!! 53May 18, 2010 8:37 pm Hi Draco!
