Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 08, 2009 8:00 pm We picked our colours last week and are booked in 24/11 for our PC and then they said usually 3-4 weeks before proper contracts and drawings come through (is this the case. or has it been longer for others?) If they do come through in that time, it would mean we would 'may' sign contracts 'hopefully' the week before xmas?? We have more than 20% deposit so dont have to worry about valuations from the bank etc and have a GR8 broker who is super reliable. How long before your build started and finished?? We are building the SOHO 29. Is it fair to think we would start in Jan? And from the day you had your site scrape, how long til handover? I am soooooo impatient already! Doesnt help that we sold our nice house we lived in for 10 years and now living in a **** little 2 bedroom weatherboard with no air con (yep, its 34 here today and tomorrow aswell ) And the 2 boys are sharing a room, and my kitchen bench is about 50cm long and canary yellow! RAHHHHH we figured it would be 'smart' so we can save for our new furniture and the nice house things rather than throw away rent money, but it is already driving me batty! I refuse to put out all my 'pretty' things until we are in our home Re: M3tr!con people....timeline before building starts?????? 2Nov 08, 2009 8:26 pm Hi Makoby, I unfortunately can't help you with your timelines questions, but I felt your pain reading your post - this is what I'm dreading as we are looking to move into a small/cheap place to save a bit money - so am fully preparing myself for the worst! Re: M3tr!con people....timeline before building starts?????? 3Nov 08, 2009 10:40 pm We're building the Logan 28. I think we signed our final contracts on the 6th of May and our build had started by June. We're now 164 days in to our build and (fingers crossed, all being well) we're no more than 2 weeks from handover. We've been wandering between other peoples homes since February so will be nice to finally have all the pieces of our life back in one place, one lovely new shiny place! How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5944 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 81723 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
