Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 08, 2009 4:42 pm I have chosen Icesnow for my kitchen benches and the girl suggested the one that has the smaller flecks for ensuite and bathroom (so its still the same colour variations) not sure if this is actually called something else though cos the sample doesnt have a sticker on the back. Should I stick with the same bench for all or do you think it would look good having the 2? The cupboards in the kitchen are white with a darker 'wraparound' on the island bench, and then this darker colour would be the colour of the cupboards in the bathroom /ensuite. Just wanting opinions. I want to keep the house very much the same and not sure if these little variations would spoil it?? Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 2Nov 08, 2009 5:31 pm I have exactly what you are talking about. I have ice snow in the kitchen and osprey in the ensuite. The ice snow looks whiter, but now that I have both I prefer the opsrey. I have slightly different 2pak colours between my kitchen and bathroom cupboards. One is the bright white, one is the other dull white. To be honest I dont notice the difference in cupboard colour, nor would anyone really notice the difference in stone colour room to room. Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 3Nov 08, 2009 5:36 pm Yep its Osprey. If you REALLY want the rooms to flow...have them both in Ice Snow. But you can get away with both colours, as the main difference is the speckles.. it will work out ok IMO. Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 4Nov 08, 2009 5:39 pm It wouldn't worry me at all. It could actually add interest. Even different colour/tile schemes in different bathrooms wouldn't matter, it can actually be better (especially if one doesn't turn out that good , then you still have the other good one, so overall all good). Seriously, it doesn't matter - these are all different rooms, plus they are relatively small, with closable doors. It's similar to wall colours - you can have them different in different rooms! Good luck! My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 5Nov 08, 2009 5:56 pm I think its would look fine either way. Ask about extra costs though.. if they dont have offcuts available to do the bathrooms separate you may have to pay for a whole new slab. Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 6Nov 08, 2009 7:49 pm The cost is the same either way, They are both from the same category. I guess it will look ok as its all very similar and it will just 'individualize' each room. I was so confident with my choices and then you sit and really look, and start second guessing everything! Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 8Nov 09, 2009 2:34 pm go ahead and get them seperate. we did - it looks fine, osprey with ice snow. There's no issue with 'room flow' - you can never see the two side by side!!!!!! you can't even see them in the same glance. The bathroom normally has a different look anyway in my mind - different light fixtures etc etc.... usually different flooring (unless ppl put their bathroom tiles throughout the house?!) so it's not an issue at all. Re: kitchen caeserstone different to bathrooms?? opinions?? 9Nov 09, 2009 2:49 pm We've gone Zulu (black speckly) caesarstone in the kitchen and Cracked Pepper (white speckly) caesarstone in the ensuite & bathroom. We have the same floor tiles, shower tiles and laminate cabinet doors, but have just differed the stone tops. Kitchen colours...
