Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2010 12:31 am Hi All, Has anyone had their water meter connected, with the stock standard tap from the water corp only to find it gone misssing??!??! Just went past our block, and much to my surprise the tap has gone missing, as has a few others round the stage. Does the water corp replace it or is it my expense? ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Taps going missing 2Oct 06, 2010 8:53 am Suggest you contact your water supplier. Here is my experience: I did a knock down rebuild and my entire meter disappeared during my build. Someone had replaced the meter with what is loosely termed a "Bridging Pipe". I contacted the water board after they sent me a letter advising they couldn't read my meter (I wonder why?). To get a new meter (Sydney Water) I had to first contact the Police and file a report and obtain an Incident number for said stolen meter. Then I rang the Water Board back, quoted the Incident Number and they sent a guy out with a new meter at no cost to me. Not sure how your Water supplier handles stolen stuff. Give them a ring I'm sure they will be able to help you. Re: Taps going missing 3Oct 06, 2010 9:26 am KnockItDown Suggest you contact your water supplier. If they are unable to successfully read your meter ongoing they convert you to un-metered supply and then charge you an un-metered fee on top of the average of the last 12 months water usage per bill thereafter. For me I was told that the fee would be $98 per calender month. So before I even used a drop of water my quarterly water bill would be almost $300. I got a new meter re-installed that afternoon. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9857 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
