Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 06, 2009 7:10 pm We are!!! Waiting for Stage 80A which we were assured would be ready in September. For the last 5 weeks we've been told all work will be finished within a week, but as each week has passed the work has remained unfinished. Why is this such a big deal? Because the snowball effect (Xmas, soil test/survey, building permit) of this delay means that we are at risk of running out of time for our 26 week FHOG. Developer has been reluctant to offer us a reason in writing for the delay which means SRO aren't too keen on giving an extension. Would love to see them working at trying to get work done ASAP, but today all they did was cement a couple of driveways. Anyone have any hints on how to get them moving?? Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 2Nov 06, 2009 8:19 pm There is a general Mernda Villages thread you can have a look at. Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 3Nov 06, 2009 8:26 pm If they are doing the driveways then they can't be too far away I'd imagine as everything else would be in place 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Some crossovers were cemented today next to me but they are still doing the sewer/water pipes and constructing the street behind MV Drive heading towards Plenty Road. I think the release on the other side of MV Drive facing West is all done. Where is your release/stage exactly? Happy at Home Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 5Nov 06, 2009 10:33 pm I don't think there is anything you can do to get them moving, you can only keep yourself informed by ringing them every week. My land was delayed 4 1/2 months in Laurimar. From memory my cross over was done in late Sept, settlement mid november 08. Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 6Nov 07, 2009 6:42 pm Our land is due to settle early January in MV Drive, 2 doors away from H2B. The drainage easements are almost complete (I'm sure H2B will be so glad once they're finished!) and they have to move the x-overs. Last I spoke with Stockland they told me everything is on schedule. I love Sundays, it's so quiet here I think I am used to the noise though as most days I don't realise that they've packed up and gone home Happy at Home Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 8Nov 08, 2009 9:22 am House-To-Be neilandrach The drainage easements are almost complete (I'm sure H2B will be so glad once they're finished!) and they have to move the x-overs. Man, those guys get close with their big earth-moving thingies! Yep we've had a few knocks to the fence! And they just love parking the big earth-moving thingy right next to our fence everynight! I'm surprised that one of my DD's doesn't wake up when it starts in the morning......... Happy at Home Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 10Nov 08, 2009 8:41 pm The section behind the new display village is apparently ready to be sent to the Titles office this week - they did the final grading work on friday Re: Anyone else waiting for land in Mernda Villages? 11Mar 28, 2010 5:52 pm After months of delays, we've been told that our Titles have been released and we settle on 7th April. Stockland have been dragging their feet... our crossover still hasn't been concreted, they dug it out about 4 weeks ago and stayed like that ever since. We're also still waiting on the builder getting their act together, they seem intent on building my house with the garage on the right, despite the crossover being located on the left and me raising 3 separate variations telling them that the crossover was being moved! I finally spoke to their area manager who has promised to expedite our plans and also stated that they hope to commence construction late April, hopefully we will be in for Christmas! Hope to catch up with some of our new neighbours over the coming months. Neil and Rachel Finally completed the Hartley 361 with Dennis Family Homes in Mernda Villages..... It was done today Two out of three were done, hoping they come back tomorrow and do the last one. I met your back diagonal neighbour last week He's ready to go too. Shame that it's taken so long. Hope everything gets sorted out for you quickly. Happy at Home A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
