Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "Waiting to be slabbed" 61Jun 16, 2010 8:51 pm Hi Everyone Thanks so much for your replies. I know ... long time between updates and I was just having a ** peak at the forum and felt very guilty I had not only failed to post any updates, but I hadn't yet posted any photos. So here goes: 1st June - The portaloo was delivered (while i was away) 5th June - Site Scrape 9th June - Sand Pad/Compacting completed 11th June - Drive Way and Backyard dug out and mesh delivered 14th June - Plumbing and footings laid Now we're just waiting on a slab which was held up due to bad weather. So we're off out to site for 7.30am tomorrow in anticipation that tomorrow will be the day (we were promised today) however it wasn't to be - that's the way it goes unfortunately. I think the more time you give the plaster to set and cure the better. Camyperth you are powering along now. Must be nice to see some formation of walls. Purple Butterfly - I hope you get your brick issues sorted soon. Gosh I hope we don't run into that problem - though our supplier is Austral bricks. Must say though you had a nice looking slab!! SunshineT - yes by window treatments, I mean 50mm metallic finish venetian blinds. I haven't yet decided what we'll have on the stacker doors as yet. We'll sort that after handover. Hey Kazz - congratulations on the roof. It is looking really great. I may do a walk through and have a ** peak on the weekend before you reach lock up. Promise not to touch anything - I'll just admire (that's if you don't mind). Good to see my fellow DAH's powering along too. Anyone heard from Bagheera? Do you have any idea when you are going to be slabed My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "Waiting to be slabbed" 64Jun 16, 2010 10:12 pm Hiya jbarry, great news on progress saw the plumbers there the other day. Please feel free to check out my house and let me know what you think. Will post plans and pictures at a later date new to all this. Cheers Kazzbah Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "Waiting to be slabbed" 65Jun 17, 2010 6:22 pm Hi All No slab today. But I did receive my request for the 1st payment yesterday and it says that we will reach slab stage on the 18th. Am I now to assume that it will be poured tomorrow morning? We'll get up early and drag ourselves our of bed once again and head out to the block - with everything crossed that when we turn into our street we will see that (so far) elusive concrete truck! Not sure if my DD will be so keen to rise before the sun's up but I keep assuring her it will be exciting to watch it all happen. Hey Kazzbah, we'll have a quick walk through some time on the weekend. Can't wait to see your plans. So I've checked the forecast and looks like we may be ok weather wise - so hopefully we'll see some action. They also need to provide some paperwork to the bank before they release the payment anyway, so once I know the slab is down, I will then ring the accounts dept to check that they have provided the documents and will then follow up with our bank to ensure all has been received. jbarry My build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25713 13th Oct - Offer on block 4th Dec - Settlement of block scheduled (delayed due to titles) 22nd Feb - Titles Issued 17th Mar - Land Settlement 17th Mar - Pre-start meeting Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "Waiting to be slabbed" 68Jun 17, 2010 6:48 pm jbarry Absolutely not!! Either way, i'm sure it's just a procedural thing. The accounts will be working to their schedule whch doesn't always fit in with the weather. There are a few of you that will be battling winter by the looks :\ Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Handover 8 September 2010 Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "Waiting to be slabbed" 70Jun 18, 2010 11:04 am Thanks for your response on the window treatments. So did you drag yourself out of bed this morning to check? Did you get a slab today???? Good luck! WE'VE BEEN SLABBED!!! No pics yet - I'll hopefully upload some tonight. They guys out there this morning were fantastic. They had no problems with DD laying a dollar coin just inside the front door and happily poured the concrete over it for her while we were there. We had 2 concretre trucks with the call made to bring a third to finish off the theatre room, master bedroom and entry. Can't wait to go and have a look later today. So that's it now until we see a few deliveries over the course of the next week or two. Anyone know how long before slab down to when they would usually start bricking? It's pretty cool that DD got to be a part of it, too. My DD loves seeing new things happening at the house. She really is getting more excited about it. She begs to go to the block, has a quick tour of each room and then disappears out to the sand pile lol There was 5.5 weeks between our slab down and brick start, but hopefully yours will be a bit quicker than that! Yay! Another DAH'er on the way Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Handover 8 September 2010 Re: The Osprey Build (DAH - WA) - "We've been slabbed" 74Jun 18, 2010 12:46 pm Congrats on your slab, isn't it a great feeling!! Our slab was poured on 8/6 and framing started 17/6...no sign of brick delivery just yet.
