A little darker than blackbutt with a much coarser wavy grain. Grain pattern is almost similar to spotted gum Its a very oily timber and was mostly used in the past as decking etc. Beware of feature grade it can be very heavy in borer holes Re: does anyone have tallowwood floors??.....Photos please! 3Nov 04, 2009 7:04 pm thanks for that The one is was looking at IS the natural grade of tallowwood so it would have the natural marks and nots etc through it which is i little unnerving as it may look great but then you could get some really **** spots in really obvious places Never thought this would be so hard!
