[i][b]Krissy & Dave Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1124Jul 08, 2011 1:32 pm I wanted dimmable LED downlights and after researching the best ones I found were melec's (google it) my friend had them installed and they look fantastic!! We paid clarendon to do all our downlights (the halogen's) and then after seeing these LED's I wanted these, so i asked for them and they were pretty expensive (and we just didn't have the cash at the time to pay the upgrade direct to the electrician, cos we ahd just paid out all thes eother things), seeing as we were getting solar power I didn't worry about them too much and thought I could always swap them over later..as it turns out the solar power company couldn't install the panels in time for the rebate deadline...and I STILL haven't heard back from them (and they stil ahve my deposit!)...annoying! If I had known I would have put that money to upgrading to LEDS. So anyway if you are after LED's - I think these one's are the best - the look great and they are dimmable. After paying for everything else ( high ceilings, bamboo flooring, extra powerpoints/TV/telephone points, extraction fans, kitchen upgrade, etc etc etc ) we decided that down lights were a step too far that we could do with out, hope I don't regret it later on. Was up at the house today, hopefully the gyrock will be getting installed this coming week. Can't wait for it to be finished. gav2233 Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1126Jul 09, 2011 9:52 pm Hey Guys Quick update: We've just had lock up. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1127Jul 17, 2011 3:08 am Hi All, Does any body out there know the placement of the wall and roof insulation for the Waterfall with the Amore upgrage. Are we supposed to get it above the ceiling downstairs?? Any info would be appreciated. gav2233 Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1128Jul 17, 2011 7:45 am Hey Gav We got the Amore. Insulation to all external walls, up and downstairs. Insulation to walls between garage and entry, and between garage and bed 6/study. Insulation to ceiling above downstairs rumpus if room was added. And based on the contemporary facade, insualtion to living room ceiling. Only the section below the colorbond roof. Not the section between living room and bed 4. Hope this helps. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1129Jul 17, 2011 11:19 pm Thanks for that info. So no insulation in the ceiling cavity between the down and upstairs areas. Just seems I have a few bags of it left over, shame to waste it. One other question, what pest control device have they fitted to your house? Did you get granitgard? Cheers gav2233 Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 1130Aug 11, 2011 3:44 pm Hey Guys Our update is: we're doing a walkthrough next week. Took the good part of 3 1/2 hours to complete. Picked quite a few defects but 99% were paint of course. So this week is completing defects. Bamboo floor goes down next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Then final walk through, clean, carpet then handover. Hopefully about 2 or so weeks. Will post photos later. There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6712 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
