Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 672Nov 19, 2010 11:32 pm Meatpie, looks good. I can't wait until we are at that stage (or any stage, we are waiting, waiting, waiting, nobody tells you the tender process is long and drawn out) From memory, after you have your tender presentation you are sent an email survery about your experience so far, I was wondering has anyone received any other surveys and at what stage did you receive them. Thanks Taspost Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 673Nov 20, 2010 6:15 am Ha Ha. We received that first survey like yourself. Haven't seen one since. We just signed our deposit tender and plans are being amended while they prepare for developer and council approval. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 674Nov 20, 2010 11:57 am gav2233 also has any one used Ark Finishes who do the fly screens and blinds. All info would be appreciated, pricing, service and end product etc etc. So, any takers on flyscreens and blinds? Gav, did you perhaps mean "ARK Finishing Touches", rather than Ark Finishes ?? ("Ark Finishes" apparently don't exist) My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 675Nov 20, 2010 6:44 pm Hi, Yes, I meant to say 'Ark Finishing Touches' . We are going with them for our blinds, flyscreens, flydoors and clothesline. We have decided to get plantation shutters for the front of the house and cheap virtuals for the back. Did'nt bother to get a different quote so hope to hell we are not getting screwed! Advantage of course is it will all be in for HO. gav2233 Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 676Nov 20, 2010 7:59 pm waterproof done! anyone know what method is this called? i read there are 3 types: * Latex – Latex rubber based – these air dry, but in winter can take up four days to dry. * Cement based two part – Cement polymer – add dry and wet parts and mix - 2 hours to re-coat – 6 hours to fully set. * Bitumen based – Has a better drying time then Latex but is not as flexible. somehow i am concerned if this is done correctly? Clarendon being such a big company I doubted they perform these works incorrectly. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 678Nov 20, 2010 8:20 pm Thanks, Gav. Yeah, it was super close, still asked just to be really really sure Are you doing the plantation shutters with them too? And what do you mean by "cheap virtuals" (or could this be cheap verticals??) - and is that with them too? Thanks Lex My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 679Nov 20, 2010 8:47 pm Fairway-delight Wat u concerned about meatpie?? Clarendon being such a big company I doubted they perform these works incorrectly. no doubt they are big but they pay peanuts to sub contractor. you get monkey job when you get pay peanuts. with other jobs, if it doesnt done correctly, i can live with it. chipped bricked, not so smooth render etc... i am just concerned that it is not waterproof. not only this is one the most important bit of the house (the most costly to repair) and you can be a waterproofer with just 4 days TAFE course. the leak wont show now. it will be shown years later. just the overall experience hasnt been the one that i can just trust C 100%. i got to keep my eye 100% on the house every details of it as i have spotted a few mistakes along the way. this one is the one that i cannot afford to have. way too expensive if water proofing fails. better be safe than sorry i suppose Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 680Nov 20, 2010 9:49 pm Hey mp, Are all these pics from the upstairs? BTW, our powder and separate toilet had the light blue stuff painted all over the floor, not just the perimeter. Maybe you can check this with the SS, or even your PCA when he comes to inspect the frame stage (or even at waterproofing inspection is not too late). Maybe you can arrange with the SS for this to be done? Although, I'm pretty sure the floor is not required as per BCA I can't really see the point - the flloor level of all wet areas will be higher than any other, especially on the top floor. And serious uncontrolled water leakage will end up on the adjoining room's floor anyway. I see they've done your bath better (or are you having a spa bath?), it has extra support at the 2 narrow ends. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6988 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 8119 No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6253 |
