We're also building the Clarendon Waterfall, our status is probably a week or two ahead of you - the bricks for the ground floor are laid, they have just erected the scafolding and should start laying the bricks for the 1st floor next week. Not sure if they will get all the bricks laid before the Christmas break though. Hi Lex, what sort of problems have you had so far? Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 16Dec 24, 2009 8:03 am Hi Lex, in response to your questions,
"did you have any issues with the slab or frame so far? Give us at least a little bit of overhang please ... I feel so alone with our various stuff-ups" I had a closer look yesterday and there a 1cm overhang pretty much all the way around. "Is your slab H class? It looks nice and fat" Yes it's H class. Hi STLIGL, Great news, have you got a blog or any pictures to share? waterfall. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 18Dec 24, 2009 8:08 pm Hi waterfall @ Waterfall , It's good to see that your build is without dramas ... but we had a few so far. Can you post us some pics of formworks, slab, frame (close-ups, if possible)? Good luck with your build and enjoy the festive season ! Cheers [edit] Opps, sorry, just realised your build is on your blog ... looks good!!!!! BTW, can you say what were your site costs (approx)? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 19Jan 04, 2010 11:49 pm Hi Lex, Wow, I've just read your other thread - you've got me really worried now!! I never looked that closely at the areas / items which you showed as problems that are sub standard and need to be fixed. The ground floor of our house is now bricked, I wonder if I can still see those areas and spot any problems? Or will they now be covered up by the bricks? I wonder if we have the same as you? Hi Waterfall, I tried to attach some photos to this thread but there was a message coming back saying the board attachment quota has been reached already. Sorry if this is a silly question (I'm new to this forum) - should we be able to attach small photos (less than 256kB each) to these threads? Lex, I noticed you were able to do this - how did you do it? I'd like to share some photos of our house and see if anyone can spot any problems which I am not aware of ! Hi STLIGL, Photos are easy (once you figure them out) - see my step by step in this post http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22483&p=378144#p378144. You can attach quite big pics to show fine details, or medium like I've done recently, or really small - depending on the resolution/clarity you want to achieve ... In regards to checking behind/around the bricking, the only way to say is to try to get on site and have a look. Also, you can see on your ground floor plan where the brick walls should be - depending on your house design, there may still be some "reverse" corners which you could check as they might not be bricked up from the wider side (don't know if this writing makes sense ). But yeah, my spotlight is turned on the structural stuff ... I'll worry about "beauty" later (structural is critical, beauty can (almost always) be replaced) My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6988 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
