Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 02, 2009 1:26 pm Gday, S!/\/\onds standard inclusions list 'Taubmans 2 Coat Paint Application'. Any S!/\/\onds customers care to reply with what they have had applied to their home? Do 'S' consider 2 coat as: Undercoat/sealer + 2 top coats, or Undercoat/sealer + 1 top coat? Cheers Re: S!/\/\onds Standard Inclusions - Paint Coats 2Nov 02, 2009 4:06 pm ssvetec S!/\/\onds standard inclusions list 'Taubmans 2 Coat Paint Application'. Any S!/\/\onds customers care to reply with what they have had applied to their home? Not sure what's standard, but we got the undercoat/sealer and 2 topcoats done on our place. And the painters are back into today doing a bunch of touch-ups/rerolls from last Friday's PCI. However, we're not too worried about it, because we plan on doing our own feature walls/painting after handover, so we basically just got Simonds to do a single colour throughout the house. Re: S!/\/\onds Standard Inclusions - Paint Coats 3Nov 02, 2009 4:17 pm My DW visited some display houses on Sunday, and now is experienced enough to start seeing what comes standard and what is extra. I think it is about time that the prices mentioned in the brochures or on the boards outside the display houses should be for what you see in the display house rather than for the basic house to which you pay extra to match the display house's special lighting, high ceilings, refrigerant airconditioning, non-standard fittings and feature wall paint work. This doesn't answer the question, but the question of standard paint reminded me of her account. Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Re: S!/\/\onds Standard Inclusions - Paint Coats 4Nov 03, 2009 11:26 am 2 coat system 1x Undercoat and 1 x top coat (Standard) We have gone for their 3 coat sytem which is 1 x Undercoat and 2 x Top coat. We have chosen a darker colour so our paint was not part of their standard range and it was necessary to upgrade to the extra coat due to the colour. I have heard from may people (with lighter coloured paint) that they were not happy with the 2 coat system as you could see joins and inperfections in the wall through the paint. Worth the upgrade. Thanks. There are plenty of builders around my suburb. I'll make sure to do some door-to-door knocking, or note their building details on the temp fence. 4 2620 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 1679 Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14070 |
