You know, if the land was empty, with no site start ... I'd probably park on it too. I wouldn't have had a problem with people parking on my land when it was empty either. Of course, once the site was cut, then they can get the hell off! If they were doing donuts and ripping up the ground that would be different. 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' We recently spent 3 hours mowing the block and now the grass has started to die off in the heat, which is good. It was amazing what we found when mowing - all embedded in the long grass - bottles, cans, bag of concrete, lots of concrete lumps, rocks, brick pallette and the remains of a builders cage. Looks like the guys who build next door just dumped it on our land. You would think that the owners of the house would have asked their builders to take THEIR rubbish away! We've just piled it in one section and will have to arrange to have it carted away before site start, at our expense....grrr ...I can empathise with you!!! Re: Who cleans your site before beginning? 25Nov 03, 2009 8:15 pm UPDATE Went over to my block today and the pile of pavers are definitely annoying - especially as I went walking around the block and discovered a BIG SLAB OF CONCRETE HIDDEN DOWN THE BACK CORNER!!! Its bloody huge, bigger than a single bed mattress and quite thick - looks like its been cut out of a slab. It would have been bloody heavy to carry there so must be my lovely neighbours that didn't need it now they have paved their yard. They had the cheek to try and 'hide' it down the back amongst all the weeds, cos it wasn't visible from the street!!! So I wrote a lovely note along the lines of "Hi its your neighbours, we're starting building next week so please move your pavers and concrete, any probs call me - thanks!" and stuck it in their letterbox. I did knock and was intending on talking to them but they weren't home so probably better as I was quite ** off. UPDATED pg2 26Nov 05, 2009 10:27 am Well my neighbours might not be too bad - the day after I left the note requesting they move their crap off my land, it was gone. Well at least the stack of broken pavers was. The big slab of concrete down the back corner is still there....so now I'm wondering if its not his? Its pretty huge so has to be someone from around us, and I think the house on the no thru rd behind us may be doing some reno's......will go investigating later today. Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! UPDATED pg2 27Nov 16, 2009 9:58 am We have a large pile (size of a small car) of rocks that mysteriously appeared on our land. They were on the other side of the fence prior to their building being errected and seemed to have wondered over to ours. Light pole in front of our property has more slant than the leaning tower of pisa with tyre marks. Developer/council is fixing this. Our water mains has been run over as well as a mangled main tap. Hopefully covered by building insurance otherwise another "owner" cost We're making some phone calls Re: Who cleans your site before beginning? Its bloody huge, bigger than a single bed mattress and quite thick This seems to be another favorite for vacant lots, the concreter's clean up. Ours was a similar size and I spent an afternoon with a pick a week before site start to get rid of it after trying to get the neighbour's builder to clean it up for months. Hopefully that is all it is as it does break up fairly easily. Its rediculous, unless you see someone do it, there is nothing anyone can do... Keeping a vacant block clear of rubbish dumpers is up there with the most stressful part of the building process IMO. I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this?
