Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 29, 2009 3:02 pm Hi, just running it past you. We have just received a progress payment for our plaster set, this is the last progress payment we make before PCI amount. My concern is that our ground floor render has not been completed ... only just the rough coat done, waiting for the sealer then acrylic render. Do you think we have the right to hold back payment until this has been completed, or the fact that the internal plaster work has been done, we have to pay. My concern is, that the final PCI amount is not that much, and thus they lose the incentive to get a move on with our job ... which has already dragged out ... Thanks. Re: Progress Payment Claim 4 plaster set but external not finish 2Oct 29, 2009 3:17 pm If you are at "lock-up", which will be defined in your contract, then "no", it's not ok to hold off payment. Our lock up invoice was issued once all plaster was completed (no bricks) and you technically couldn't get inside unless you damaged walls. Hope this helps. Normally you have 10 days to pay the bill, maybe the render will be done by then If you are not sure what's included at plaster set stage, maybe ring the builder just to clarify. The invoice would have been generated because on the system the stage of plaster set has been 100% complete.. info normally given on a weekly basis by the supervisor.
