Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 29, 2009 11:20 am Hi Guys, Urgently need your inputs on the brick work to our new home that we are building with PD in Point Cook. We went with a dark colour brick and selected off white mortar to contrast. Within a few days after the 1st high pressure clean we observed that the mortar went off colour from a lot of areas on the wall. There were visible cracks & also the mortar was missing from a lot of areas. We spoke to our SS and he said the dark bricks tend to leave a residual during rainy season. He said he will get them pressure cleaned again and also neutralise them to avoid any more residual coming from them. After the second pressure clean the bricks have some more dents and is still off coloured form some places. When I spoke to him today he said that they will fill in the gaps to cover the cracks in mortar and he finds the dents as normal part of wear and tear. Can anyone share if they've had similar experiences with off white mortar and if it is normal to have cracks & missing areas in mortar after high pressure wash. I am totally confused and do not know where to go from here. Any inputs are greatly appreciated.............
