Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 28, 2009 7:16 pm Hi am just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on vacuum systems, we are considering including this in our build but as we have already signed contracts need to make decisions ASAP. We are building a 2 storey home with a project builder and they use a Hills CentralVac 1600w as their standard. I am wondering whether or not this would be sufficient for a 2 storey home with the second storey being mainly carpet. Or should I get some other quotes and see if the builders are agreeable to taking this out of contract. Any tips much appreciated. I think our system that comes standard with our house is 2HP, but when speaking to the company installing our system, they've recommended that we upgrade to a 2.75HP system (they said to budget about $300 to upgrade this). Hope this helps!
