Thanks Re: Keeping same landline number ? 2Oct 28, 2009 1:54 pm I think you can take your number with you from your current house to your rental to your new house, as long as you are staying within the same postcode. Re: Keeping same landline number ? 4Oct 28, 2009 2:08 pm As long as you remain connected to the same exchange when you are moving, then you should be able to keep the same number. Then it just becomes an issue that is dependant on your service provider, whether you change or stay with them. We didn't move very far, but it was far enough to lose broadband access which means we had to change providers and move to cable for internet. Good Luck! It is going to be a different postcode. Re: Keeping same landline number ? 6Oct 28, 2009 2:19 pm gkj001 Yes, we knocked down our house and rebuilt and we asked Telstra to hold our number. Awesome Re: Keeping same landline number ? 7Oct 28, 2009 2:24 pm CMET As long as you remain connected to the same exchange when you are moving, then you should be able to keep the same number. This gives you number portability between exchanges, and can potentially reduce your phone bills too + the number stays alive even when you don't have a phone service. Gotalk will port out a number - I think it cost me about $10 a couple of years ago + a monthly call plan. I'm too old to remember a new number. Luckily we were building within the same exchange area, and managed to find a rental there too. So our phone number came with us through two moves without any drama at all. No issues with broadband either, we were reconnected both times within two or three days (I managed with dial-up or the wi-fi at the local Macca's in the meantime ) .... although I hear that others in my area weren't so lucky. Looks like our timing was just perfect. Appreciate that Chippy. I won’t do sand under pavers and will connect all up under pavers, however I was going to do: 1) Roadbase compacted with manual hand tamper 2)… 10 18530 |
