Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Internal Doors 3Oct 28, 2009 3:21 pm We are just getting plain ones too. Cheaper as our door height has been raised to match high ceilings. Re: Internal Doors 5Oct 28, 2009 4:13 pm We went with Hume Denmark doors for internals

Re: Internal Doors 6Oct 28, 2009 4:51 pm We having these http://www.corinthian.com.au/Product/Show_85.aspx Maddison 4 panel doors for all the internal doors throughout the house. Re: Internal Doors 8Oct 28, 2009 5:17 pm All the other houses I have lived in all my life had plain flush panel doors, so I went for the 2 panel for something different! I don't mind about the dust, as it's easy to run the vac over them while doing the skirts . I love the look of them in my home, and they match the 2 panel front doors! It is something you can always upgrade later if you don't want to spend the money now as well. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! We are having very high doors, not the standard height so therefore the cost goes up considerably. Re: Internal Doors 10Oct 28, 2009 6:20 pm Hi Stormy, I am having the same doors, I will be painting them white now after seeing your up. I was going to paint them the same colour as the walls but the contrast looks great. I love your paint colour on the walls. I went for a panel door this time as I also lived with flush door for the past 8yrs so time for a change. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Internal Doors 12Oct 28, 2009 6:48 pm I like the doors that Stormy got, they look divine on these pictures!! However, for some reason, they didn't do it for me when I saw them "live", so we went with the Corinthian Stanford 4-panel, woodgrain embossed finish. Actually, if Stormy's doors are not embossed, it could very well be the reason we didn't get them! Well, I'd say - as long as it's not the plain flush panel - they look "budget" and outdated to me, especially when teamed up with door knobs instead of handles (but that's just me). Anyway, good luck with your choice! My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Internal Doors 13Oct 28, 2009 7:51 pm I have the same doors as Stormy. I was over choosing things by the time we got to the doors and I let DH choose. I have to admit I didn't like them! But now that they are painted and in my house I love them. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/rebel_radar/DSCN0775.jpg Re: Internal Doors 14Oct 28, 2009 8:02 pm Lex I like the doors that Stormy got, they look divine on these pictures!! Actually, if Stormy's doors are not embossed, it could very well be the reason we didn't get them! My doors are NOT embossed. For me, I can't stand that look, but each to their own! If we all chose the same our homes would be VERY boring!! I adore my doors, and I love all the woodwork painted white contrasted against the colour on the walls, but again, that is my taste!! Mine cost me about $2K to upgrade, but it makes it just a little bit different to a Henley display home, which all use plain flush (that I have seen...) LOVE your doors fairy blue lol! Re: Internal Doors 17Oct 28, 2009 8:20 pm Stormy, just read that yours were a $2k upgrade! Ours were standard! It is amazing what can be standard with one company and an upgrade with another. Re: Internal Doors 18Oct 28, 2009 8:25 pm Helyn We have 4 panel traditional style doors, Im sure they're not the most modern or 'in trend' but then neither is rest of our house - we're not into ultra modern. we're going the 4 panel doors also, but with a smooth finish rather than the woodwork one, so not more dusting than normal doors. Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... So, whatever takes your fancy is the right choice for you (ie. each of us). Forgot to mention (if this can help anyone) - when we were selecting internal finishes etc, the lady told us that they "don't do" smooth finishes on garage doors any more because they are easier to scratch. As for internal doors, I think she use words "don't recommend" (rather than "don't do"). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Internal Doors 20Oct 28, 2009 11:24 pm We went for the same as Stormy's. It's only costing us $689 to upgrade, so figured it was worth it. There are ones I like even better, but as someone else said, was so over it by then, so got DH to choose. We have plain ones in the rental we are in, which is built so cheaply and they look cheap in here (not offending anyone as they can look great in the right house), but not this place, so didn't take the chance. Not to mention the fact that whoever built this house has no taste... they have chrome fixtures like taps, towel racks etc, with GOLD knob door handles . Alot of people have commented how odd it looks. Okay, then the choice is really about the build quality of the door itself which means the brand name. Sorry I can't recommend one or the other so best to rely on comments… 5 2436 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 3468 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 6291 |
