Still waiting to hear from them with re to the quote. We r looking at building Meridian 270. My concern is we r building in Canberra and all changes in the plan r taking up their team in Sydney. Not sure how will it work ??? Re: Anyone building with AVJ? 6Oct 31, 2009 7:41 pm simI checked with the consultant again and he said he will drive to Sydney and push the team to get the Tender to us asap. I am looking at another 10 days. Hi Sim1 Yes it took about 4 weeks for our 1st tender to get to us and then another 2 weeks for the second one, I know it took way too long, I put it down to them beig busy with all the 1st home buyer rush. I actually thought our contract had gone to council but our SS (who is fantastic I must add) got onto me and told me it is actually in at "mines" at the moment will go to council this week... Our consultant was actually up n down between NSW and ACT I wonder if its the same peron "P" Anyway I luv yr plan looks gr8 I actually like a lot of AVJ houses it took us a while to single one out for us!!!! Which is the Willowbrook Purchased land:08/08 Tender signed : 07/09 Approval from bank: 07/05/09 Contracts signed -09/09 House plan:Willowbrook 290 AVJ http://steevie-lee.blogspot.com Re: Anyone building with AVJ? 7Oct 31, 2009 8:44 pm Hi stephndaz It is quite relieving to hear that its just not us. We r just little bit concerned as it taking so long as my partner will be overseas in 4 days and most of the amendments will be done over the emails. Also I am worried abt ACT having a SS. "P" is not workin out of Canberra anymore. We just got to know today that our block has a 3m slope towards the front. This means huge extra site costs. Our builder has given us a ball mark figure of $25,000. Can anyone please suggest what is the best option- 1. Provide a cut to lower our high point which happens to be our Garage or lift our low end where our master bedroom will sit. 2. Lift the lower point by putting steps at the entrance 3. Make a split level home, having stairs. Please share your opinions as this extra site cost will impact the kind of home we can build and also our budget. Re: Anyone building with AVJ? 8Nov 19, 2009 10:28 pm We're also building the Willowbrook with AVJ. We originally asked for the first tender mid dec 08, and the frame was put up just today. The delays were mostly due to AVJ and were becoming rather frustrating, although ever since the plans were finalised things have been going well, and customer service has been great. Luckily for AVJ we liked the Willowbrook so much (even though we had to chop 1200 out of it to fit it on our block), otherwise we would have looked to build with someone else. Re: Anyone building with AVJ? 9Nov 20, 2009 11:16 am Finally after numerous calls to the HQ in Sydney, I finally managed them to email the Surbey Report. The Sales Admin person told me the quote was not right as the drafting team had to make changes. Mind you we still have not received the Tender which they r hopeful will be sent out today.. But I have my doubts. I still cant understand why they hv to sit on the file and not keep us informed. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24827 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17867 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10035 |
