Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 25, 2009 7:34 pm Hello fellow home builders. We are about to embark on the adventures of building for the first time. Being new to this experience and fairly new to this site, it would be great to hear from you to give us great advise and share our experiences along the way. We are building a Eden Brae home and news is that our plans will be heading into council during this week. It so far has been a long venture and now it feels so surreal but we've come along way and would like to hear from your experiences. Re: Almost in Council 2Oct 26, 2009 8:24 am Hi bazwen. I'm a first timer as well and I'm finally in the construction phase. This forum and community are fantastic and are very helpful. Good luck with your journey, the experience is truly exciting and sometimes frustrating -- I personally found that initiating communications with the builder and sometimes micro-managing them helps to reduce frustration by a great deal. In my personal relations with Eden Brae (they put a retaining wall separating their ex-display home at Lakewood in a way they encroached onto my property and I was asking them to fix it) I found them to be extremely professional, friendly and helpful -- such a huge difference with Clarendon that time.
